Fujitsu and Reflexis Systems partner to deliver Retail Task Management solutions

Fujitsu Australia Limited

Melbourne, September 19, 2006

Fujitsu Australia Limited and Reflexis Systems Inc., the leader in retail task management software, have formed a strategic partnership to deliver advanced retail management solutions. Under the terms of the agreement, Fujitsu will be the exclusive distributor for Reflexis Systems in Australia and New Zealand, while integrating the Reflexis enterprise applications with its own software, services and hardware offerings.

Reflexis Systems is the pioneer and leader in task management systems that help retailers increase sales, decrease costs, and improve task management at every store. The partnership with Fujitsu has also involved extensive training of local Fujitsu personnel in the Reflexis technology to enable them to design, implement, integrate and support the workforce management solutions.

"With increasing competition and tighter margins, retailers need to find new ways to increase operational efficiencies. At the same time, high staff turnover and low unemployment levels are driving up labour costs. Workforce task management helps retailers to maximise the return on their labour expenditure while improving the customer experience with an improved deployment of existing resources,” said Conway Kosi, Retail Industry Director, Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand.

“Workforce optimisation is a relatively new approach to automating store task management, integrating demand forecasts and employee skills to create a "best fit" model that reduces costs while maintaining service levels and improving compliance. We believe the Australian and New Zealand markets are ready for such a solution and we are very excited to be partnering with the leading supplier in this area to bring the solution to the Australian and New Zealand markets,” said Mr Kosi.

Reflexis is the only solution that encompasses task management, labour planning, store execution, and compliance measurement in real-time. It is a scalable, integrated, web-based platform which helps retailers optimise staff productivity and ensure a consistent customer experience at every store. Reflexis’s customers include leading UK and US retailers such as B&Q, The Home Depot, Tesco, Circuit City, Staples and other fortune 500 retailers.

Prashanth Palakurthi, Chairman and CEO of Reflexis Systems, described the establishment of a strong partnership with Fujitsu Australia as “essential to enabling retailers in Australia and New Zealand to recover millions of dollars of lost sales by synchronising corporate strategy and store-level execution achieving the kind of results that our US customers have been realising for years. We have enjoyed a successful relationship with Fujitsu in the US, so we already know that partnering with them in this important region will also lead to success.”

“This partnership is further evidence of Fujitsu’s focus on extending its capability across the retail enterprise, to include new areas such as the supply chain, workforce management and business intelligence,” concluded Mr Kosi.

Fujitsu will be demonstrating Reflexis’ retail task management software at Stand B10 at the Retail Technology Expo at the Melbourne Exhibiton & Convention Centre from 19-21 September 2006.
