Nokia Australia offers Fujitsu mProcess Solution on its business devices

Fujitsu Australia Limited

Sydney, November 16, 2005

Nokia Australia today announced a strategic partnership with leading information technology and communications solution provider, Fujitsu, to offer the Fujitsu mProcess Solution on its range of enterprise devices for businesses wanting to mobilise their workforce.

The Fujitsu mProcess Solution is a business process automation toolset for enterprises wanting to more effectively and efficiently mobilise their operational mobile staff. With IDC research finding that over a quarter of the Australian workforce is now classified as ‘mobile’ (March, 2005), the mProcess Solution delivers increased efficiency for remote access workers in numerous fields of business, including field service engineers, sales people, logistics and health care professionals.

Fujitsu mProcess offers total mobile connectivity to back-end systems and is fully compliant with Nokia business devices like the Nokia 9500 Communicator and Nokia 9300 smartphone. Its major benefit is its support of operational business processes. No longer does the user need to navigate through different menus or look for the correct fields in smart forms to input data. Instead, with Fujitsu mProcess Solution, the terminal client is adapted to the operational process; resulting in greater ease of use, time savings and dramatic reduction of errors.

“Mobile access has become a critical issue for business executives today and delivering the solutions that enable effective mobility requires working strategically with the best and most innovative organisations in the technology arena,” commented Brad Reed, Marketing Manager, Nokia Enterprise Solutions. “The capabilities of our leading business devices, combined with Fujitsu’s powerful mProcess Solution, means that we are able to successfully address the anytime, anywhere business demands of today’s professionals.”

Gene Echols, Fujitsu Mobile Business, said “Nokia and Fujitsu have had a successful partnership globally for many years. We are very pleased to be extending that relationship locally by teaming up with Nokia to provide an end-to-end mobile solution as part of Fujitsu Mobile Business, a simple and complete platform for mobile services.”

Fujitsu mProcess Solution is customised to meet the day-to-day needs of the task-oriented mobile process worker. It provides enterprises with a business process automation toolset and can be deployed and integrated to meet various operative processes. Instead of utilising electronic forms that need to be navigated through to find the correct field to feed in the data, the client application actually predicts and guides the user in their tasks. This way user friendliness, ease of use, and timesaving are optimised.

The Nokia 9300 smartphone and Nokia 9500 Communicator are the latest additions to Nokia's range of business handsets. Both devices are tri-mode world phones supporting GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks and multiple leading email clients to enable seamless and secure mobile connectivity in and out of the office.

The Nokia 9300 smartphone was recently awarded ‘Editor’s Choice’ by Technology & Business Magazine in its smartphone group test, in association with RMIT Labs.
