Connect and Fujitsu collaborate to deliver hosted VoIP services in Australia

Fujitsu Australia Limited

Sydney, August 13, 2003

Connect Internet Solutions, the only specialist IP solutions provider dedicated to serving the Australian business market, has signed a contract with Fujitsu Australia Limited to deliver Connect Voice, Connect's Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services, in Australia. The agreement between Fujitsu and Connect will see the two companies promote greater business opportunities in the managed IP Centrex and VoIP services market to their joint customer base.

Connect CEO David Glavonjic said: "Connect Internet Solutions is delighted to be partnering with Fujitsu to bring to market Connect Voice - the highest-quality and most reliable VoIP solution available to the Australian business community. Fujitsu brings unparalleled experience in VoIP, Private Automatic Branch Exchange (PABX) technology and Internet Protocol Local Area Network (IP LAN) installation to the partnership, as well as access to the world's best soft-switch software."

Connect Voice is a network-centric, hosted, voice solution that provides Australian businesses with the features of an Internet Protocol Private Branch Exchange (IP PBX), without the need to own and manage it themselves. Connect Voice is based on IP Centrex technology, the IP-based equivalent of traditional Time-Division Multiplexing (TDM) Centrex. Hosted from Connect's Melbourne data centre, the new service offers customers managed telephony with features such as unified messaging, Outlook integration, remote office and call centre functions across converged IP networks. Connect will also implement Connect Voice throughout its own business, providing a showcase for prospective customers.

Fujitsu Australia CEO Nori Karasuda said: "The partnership with Connect Internet Solutions combines Fujitsu's expertise in IP telephony and Connect's infrastructure and IP leadership. Together, the partnership will deliver a diverse range of reliable and secure enterprise telephony services to Australian business. It's an excellent opportunity for both our companies to extend our VoIP offerings to this fast-growing, dynamic marketplace which demands performance."

Connect Voice will be deployed on the BroadWorks applications suite from BroadSoft, a specialist supplier for hosted VoIP services. BroadSoft is considered the global IP connectivity market leader.
