Fujitsu Australia selects Vignette applications to power revamped Web site

Fujitsu Australia Limited

Sydney, January 15, 2002

Vignette Corp. today announced that leading e-services organisation, Fujitsu Australia Limited, has selected its applications to power its fully redeveloped Web site, www.fujitsu.com.au. The new site is scheduled to debut in early February.

Vignette was chosen after a competitive selection process for its comprehensive content management and integration capabilities and for its close fit with Fujitsu's needs. The selection of Vignette follows a partnership that has been developing between the two companies since July 2001. The aim of the partnership is to combine Fujitsu's e-Business consulting and implementation expertise with comprehensive technology from Vignette and present a coordinated technology and services offering to design, build and operate enterprise content management solutions.

"We have an active strategy to identify vendor partnerships where we can utilise their products within our own architecture and thereby demonstrate their business effectiveness as a reference site," said Julian Israel, the Chief Information Officer of Fujitsu. "Vignette was involved in the initial phases of the project including a 'proof of concept' and the project is running ahead of schedule and is on budget. The entire team is enthusiastic about contributing to the deployment of Vignette's technology."

Using Vignette's integrated Web content management solutions, Fujitsu Australia could also become the main driver of Fujitsu Corporation's Intranet platform in this region. This would involve pulling together the disparate Fujitsu Intranet sites of English-in-business speaking Asian markets including Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand, Thailand and Indonesia creating a central platform for internal business intelligence services.

"Fujitsu and Vignette have been developing a strong partnership over recent months and Fujitsu's decision to use Vignette software to revamp its Web site is the latest stage in our relationship," said Neil Weston, vice president and general manager of Asia Pacific for Vignette. "We look forward to working with Fujitsu in the year ahead."

"The new site consolidates three existing Fujitsu Internet sites," Israel continued. "This project is a major step forward for the customer-facing side of our business. Vignette's workflow processes will greatly simplify content management at Fujitsu and extends to task management, data management as well as file and image management. Site administrators will be able to perform channel management, site maintenance, and the expiry of all content and live editing of any articles."
