Policy and Action Plan

Our Commitment to Sustainability

Since its inception in 1935, the Fujitsu Group has advanced consideration for the environment from a medium to long term perspective based on the principle of "operating in harmony with nature." Among the Corporate Values we have set forth in the FUJITSU Way, we state that we will strive to "protect the environment and contribute to society." Contributing to global sustainability is one of the Fujitsu Group's social responsibilities, and a reason for its existence.

Meeting Global Sustainability Challenges through Ambitious Targets

The Fujitsu Group Environmental Action Plan forms the core of Fujitsu’s commitment to sustainability. Since its inception, we have set progressively ambitious targets every three years. From 1993 to 2009, in stage I through V of our environmental program, we focused on reinforcing our own consideration for the environment. From 2010 to 2012 in stage VI, our ambitions expanded to three axes- contributions to customers and society as a whole, redoubling of efforts to lower the Fujitsu Group’s own environmental burden, and conservation of biodiversity. From 2013 to 2015 in stage VII, we focused on the areas of our society and our business and in the latest stage VIII from 2016 to 2018, we strengthen our previous approaches by further promoting the deployment of ICT throughout society as a whole.
