Munich, September 5, 2012 – Fujitsu today ships the first PRIMERGY servers with the newly released Windows Server 2012 operating system, providing immediate access to agile and flexible optimized infrastructures for diverse computing requirements. Fujitsu was also the first vendor worldwide to achieve certification for Windows Server 2012 pre-launch, and is first to offer a ‘Cluster-in-Box’ solution.
By choosing Fujitsu PRIMERGY servers, customers gain immediate access to the latest server hardware and software technology: fully-tested, pre-configured systems in Microsoft-validated configurations built to Fujitsu’s exacting standards. Thanks to close cooperation on development between Fujitsu and Microsoft, the new Fujitsu PRIMERGY rack, blade and tower servers and Fujitsu ETERNUS DX disk storage systems running Windows Server 2012 are already proven to be stable and reliable.
Windows Server 2012, designed by Microsoft to ‘cloud optimize your IT’, is the perfect complement to Fujitsu’s market position as the infrastructure enabler, providing lock-in-free cloud benefits such as business agility, to enterprises at all stages of cloud adoption.
Fujitsu today also announces optimized infrastructures designed for Microsoft workloads, making it easier for IT managers and CIOs to select infrastructure solutions scaled to their needs. Configurations pre-tested for individual system requirements feature factory-configured hardware and the Windows Server 2012 operating system, helping to minimize implementation workload for system deployment.
The first three of a growing number of solutions support growth and flexibility through system extensibility and integrated systems management. The new Fujitsu ‘Cluster-in-a-Box’, FlexFrame on Windows for SAP, and Microsoft Private Cloud Fast Track solutions will be offered directly by Fujitsu and via channel partners. Availability varies according to country.
Fujitsu is also the only vendor immediately providing Windows Server 2012-based easy scalability and investment protection in one box: the ‘Cluster-in-a-Box’ running on Fujitsu PRIMERGY servers. A flexible and modular solution tailor-made for midmarket organizations with demanding IT requirements, it offers affordable high availability to protect business-critical data and services.
FlexFrame on Windows for SAP, proven concept to deliver savings of up to 60 percent in the total cost of ownership (TCO) of infrastructure running SAP solutions, will be upgraded to Windows Server 2012. It provides an ideal foundation for cloud computing environments, thanks to system flexibility, efficiency and reliability.
Fujitsu’s Microsoft Private Cloud Fast Track solutions, which enable the quick implementation of private cloud environments, are also updated for Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V and System Center 2012 SP1 editions. Private Cloud Fast Track solutions provide organizations with all the servers, storage, networking equipment and management software needed to build a private cloud.
Mike Schutz, General Manager, Product Marketing, Server and Tools, at Microsoft

By delivering systems that are based on Microsoft’s proven Private Cloud Fast Track architecture and already tailored to customers’ needs, Fujitsu is giving customers a head start in their cloud deployments.”

“Fujitsu is providing Windows Server customers with the earliest-possible access to the new-generation technology, which is fully optimized for Fujitsu PRIMERGY servers.
