Berlin Tax Authorities

Berlin’s Senate Administration for Finance is a state ministry whose responsibilities include budgetary planning, tax administration and asset management (real estate and holdings in companies). Department III “Taxes” is in charge of the activities of the tax authorities. It oversees the activities of all Berlin tax offices.
Berlin’s Senate Administration for Finance is now poised to implement the KONSENS automation project that will provide a uniform
processing landscape for the tax authorities across the country. The basic prerequisite was met with the introduction of
the new EOSS tax-processing software on the basis of a newly designed IT infrastructure built on technology from Fujitsu.
The core of the new consolidated server and storage landscape is a central SX150 BS2000 Business Server, which serves as
the high-availability platform for all key applications. PRIMECENTER racks with PRIMERGY servers and the CentricStor virtual
tape solution from Fujitsu will also contribute to the success of this large-scale undertaking. The project, which is running
on schedule, will ultimately result in completely automated processing of tax data.
