THE POSSIBILITIES ARE INFINITE

DLC - FSX2000

Flexible Access Platform

FSX2000 is a multiservice and multi-application platform which is suited to all types of applications from ultra-urban to rural areas. The existing copper infrastructure can be reused and the FSX2000 can expand, step-by-step, with demand, up to 1920 subscribers. The FSX2000 works seamlessly alongside existing exchanges, supporting open interfaces, allowing intermediate connection to different vendors equipment. This reduces costs due to competition and accelerates modernization and functionality of the network. The FSX2000 also interworks with PDH or SDH transport networks, creating network of unparalleled versatility.

The main features of FSX2000 are:

  • future proof architecture
  • standard feature set for all size ranges -30, 120, 480, 1920
  • supports 1920 POTS lines with concentration
  • high capacity channel units - 15 POTS lines per unit
  • wide range of VF, data and high speed channel units
  • comprehensive subscriber line test features
  • integral grooming function
  • supports IDLC(V5) and UDLC(VF) operation
  • migratable to SDH transport (STM-1)
  • integral X.25 network management interface
  • event driven network management protocol
  • powerful hubbing features
  • compact design
  • front access for all units and cabling
  • full range of RT indoor cabinets for 30, 120 and 480 line applications
  • RT outdoor cabinet for 480 line application.

Robustness to Environmental

Conditions Fujitsu's FSX2000 has been designed to withstand environmental conditions experienced anywhere in the world. The FSX2000 can operate in temperature ranges from -40°C to 45°C with 95% humidity.

Furthermore, Fujitsu can provide an extensive range of indoor and outdoor cabinet types which are strong, robust and reliable.

Broadband Services In FSX2000

FSX2000's built-in flexibility will allow, in the future, a broadband upgrade to an ATM based, Fiber To The Curb (FTTC), access network. It will support services ranging from Telephony to Broadcast Video, Video-on-Demand, Interactive Multimedia, Internet Connection, Residential video Telephony and LAN Extension.

These service capabilities will be able to be expanded as needed due to the FSX's modular architecture. Capability and functionality will be able to be increased in small increments, by adding plug-in units or tributary shelves. Additionally, this smooth path from the FSX2000 to a broadband network allows a cost-effective and efficient route to the Full Service Network.

Flexible Networking

In point to point applications, the FSX2000 supports Universal Digital Loop Carrier (UDLC) mode with analog switch interfaces and Integrated Digital Loop Carrier (IDLC) mode, with digital switch interfaces (V5.2). This enables the support of existing and future carrier exchange networks. In addition, the FSX2000 has smooth migration path from UDLC to IDLC, where UDLC equipment at the central Office Terminal (COT) can be reused as IDLC Remote Terminal (RT) equipment.

The FSX2000 can support SDH internetworking in two ways. SDH transport functionality can be integrated into the FSX2000, make it an SDH based optical access delivery system, or it can be a stand alone system, replying on the FLX series or other vendor's transport equipment for the access transport network.
