Fast Duplex Colour Scanning
In one step, ScanSnap! digitizes both sides of a document in a single pass, in colour, and at an amazing speed of up to 15 pages per minute for single-sided documents, and 30 images per minute for double-sided documents. PDF Thumbnails
Rapid search of PDF files are possible through the use of "thumbnails". PDF image files created by ScanSnap! are visible as "thumbnails" within folders in the Microsoft Windows file system. These thumbnails can be viewed without requiring the associated application to be launched.

Automatic Colour Detection
ScanSnap! will automatically detects colour from black and white documents to do away with the need to set the scanner driver manually, especially when scanning mixed batches. Automatic Blank Page Delete

Business Card Scanning
ScanSnap! includes CardMinder, an application designed to capture images and information contained on business cards. This information is fed directly into a database for future reference and can be linked/exported to Excel or PIM (Personal Information Manager) such as Outlook, ACT!, and Goldmine.
The information captured is available across the range of Windows applications, simply highlight a person or company name within your document or application, press Alt-F3 on the PC keyboard and the related business card images will pop onto your screen as an instant aide memoir of that persons job function, address, contact details etc.

ScanSnap can now scan documents directly into Word/ Excel/ Searchable PDF formats via OCR, using the new Scan2Word / Scan2Excel / Scan2PDF functions integrated into the ScanSnap software.

Auto-de-skew and auto-image rotation* (new!!!)
ScanSnap! automatically corrects any misaligned text (plus or minus 5°), enabling the perfect scan from even poor quality originals. Also, the auto-image rotation application displays every scanned page in its proper orientation.

sRGB* faithful reproduces colors as they appear in the original (new!!!)
ScanSnap employs sRGB technology to reproduce a document's original colors to the same excellent standards produced by high-end graphic scanners. Ultra high colour definition can be achieved through the use of the "Excellent" mode (600dpi).
Since ScanSnap uses sRGB standards, there is little variance between colors appearing on the computer monitor and those printed out.
