Fujitsu Group Continuously Supports “Fujitsu Group Malaysia Eco-Forest Park”

Kuala Lumpur, December 2, 2005 – Fujitsu Malaysia Group of Companies continuously support the 5th reforestation volunteer activity implemented by Fujitsu Limited in “Fujitsu Group Malaysia Eco-Forest Park” at Kinarut, Sabah from November 24 to 27 for 4 days. Malaysia's forests have been decimated by slash-burn agriculture, commercial deforestation and palm-oil plantations, therefore restoring the forest has become an urgent concern. In view of the increased ruined area in Kinarut, Sabah due to commercial deforestation, forest fires, vegetation area other than the species endemic to the land, Sabah Forestry Development Authority(“SAFODA”) has been trying to recover original forest with support of Japan International Cooperation Agency (“JICA”) in the development of tree-planting technology and training of technicians.
