Fujitsu Malaysia Launches New ScanSnap, fi-5110EOX2 with Improved Features and Software


Kuala Lumpur, July 29, 2005  — Fujitsu Malaysia, a leading regional IT and communications solutions provider, today launched the enhance model of its award winning Fujitsu ScanSnap scanning solution, the fi-5110EOX2, with new software features and organizing capabilities. The new software includes, ScanSnap Organizer version 1.0, ScanSnap Manager version 2.0 and the latest version Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard.

The ScanSnap also possesses a high speed of 15 pages per minute regardless simplex or duplex scanning. Its highly automated configuration allows blank pages to be eliminated automatically. The auto-de-skew and auto-image rotation function corrects any misaligned text and displays every scanned page in its proper orientation.

The new ScanSnap Organizer software displays scanned PDF files as thumbnails. ScanSnap users can view any image in a particular file, without opening it up, just by clicking the thumbnail’s directional arrows. In addition, PDF files can be easily rearranged just by “dragging and dropping” selected images with a mouse.

The improved ScanSnap Manager software allows users to attach passwords to ScanSnap created PDF files ensuring that only authorized users can open them or even view the thumbnail image. Furthermore, this software gives users the ability to save up to nine frequently used settings, such as application selections, saving locations and scanning modes.

Bundled together is the latest Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard, a simple way to create and share more secure and reliable PDF documents. Scansnap users can generate PDF files that accurately represent the original document, and take advantage of robust tools for sharing information and commenting on electronic files.
