Telecom Engineer (Permanent)
The work includes:
- Analysing newly announced versions.
- Design and Manage ‘Reference Configurations’.
- Setting-up and maintaining installation and operation procedures (and provide the documentation to the Service Centre in charge of the acceptance tests - before the documentation is published on the Web). Defining checklists for controlling the compliance of the installed systems with the reference configurations.
- Test new products and develop procedure for disaster recovery.
- Design, test and document installation procedure.
- Install new servers in delegations.
- Setting-up and maintaining inter-building routers and Firewalls. Interface to the network provider for the WAN.
- Second level support on INSEM3, MS Proxy 2.0, DNS.
- Configure and prepare routers for deployment in 130 different countries(for building interconnections). Participate actively in the Windows 2003 migration project.
Education Requirements:
- Required: Relevant University degree (BAC +3) in IT or equivalent education or expertise.
- Cisco (CCNA, CCNP) Certifications.
- Desirable: Expert skills in Voice/IP environments
- Languages: Fluent in French and English. More languages is an advantage
- Essential: Advanced knowledge of IP networking and Voice/IP, Windows 2003 Networking.
- Desirable: Knowledge of the EC technical environment. ITIL Basics
Experience/Skills required
Thorough knowledge of:
- Data (MPLS,ISDN, xDSL, FR,PSTN) Wide Area Network services
- Routing & switching technologies, VPN, gateway protocols
- CISCO routers and Firewalls
- All Voice communications (including PABX, Voice/IP)
- Video and audio conferencing services
- LAN services
- TCP/IP protocol and related services in a Windows NT/2003 environment: DNS, DHCP, WINS
- Open Minded: capability to study and support other applications.
Professional experience of at least 3 years is required in the above areas. Good knowledge of Windows 2003 would be an advantage.
Other Requirements:

- Ability to understand complex processes.
- Customer minded and end-user satisfaction attitude.
- Good analytical skills.
