News facts:
  • New multi-mode LIFEBOOK devices and STYLISTIC tablets adapt to a range of different working styles
  • Portable, high-performance devices provide perfect balance between enterprise and end user demands
  • First 360-degree foldable Fujitsu Tablet LIFEBOOK P727 combines full notebook and tablet functionality with a seamless user experience
Munich, January 17, 2017 – Fujitsu today launches three 2 in 1 tablets for business users. The new FUJITSU Tablet LIFEBOOK P727, the first 360-degree foldable 2 in 1 device, provides a new level of flexibility in mobile business. It solves the tablet or PC dilemma by combining the best of both worlds and creating a seamless ‘anytime, anywhere’ user experience across all areas of digital working.
The LIFEBOOK P727 is a lightweight, slimline, 12.5-inch screen size convertible 2 in 1 device. It folds from a clamshell notebook into a powerful tablet when the keyboard is not needed, putting an end to the debate over whether to carry a traditional notebook, a tablet, or both, while traveling. It can be used in four different working modes – classic clamshell, desktop, tablet and so-called tent, giving users the freedom of choice based on individual preference – and supports multiple forms of input, including touchscreen, digitizer pen and keyboard. The 360-degree hinge means the keyboard can be folded over so it disappears entirely behind the screen. Optional 4G/LTE connectivity and up to 10 hours of battery backup make the LIFEBOOK P727 a truly mobile, work-anywhere device.

Fujitsu is also introducing the FUJITSU Tablet LIFEBOOK T937, the latest in Fujitsu’s long line of convertible tablets, where the screen can rotate 360 degrees from a central pivot point. Weighing only 1.3 kg, its thin and flexible design allows users to switch from 13.3-inch ultra mobile notebook to tablet mode, enabling dynamic work styles both in the office and on the move.
A third new model, the new 12.5-inch FUJITSU Tablet STYLISTIC R727 is the second-generation of Fujitsu’s popular STYLISTIC R 2 in 1 device, a powerful tablet PC with a detachable keyboard. Combining a full-productivity notebook with the convenience of a tablet, the STYLISTIC R727 provides new levels of performance, making it perfect for busy executives on the go.
With its new line-up of high-end 2 in 1 devices, Fujitsu offers business users more flexibility and agility and responds to the increased business needs of the digital workplace, catering to business travelers who work on the move, collaborate in teams and use their devices in multiple ways. According to a recent study by IDC¹, tablets will play a key part in digital transformation, with hybrid and 2 in 1 devices meeting new productivity needs as well as enabling new usage scenarios. The study revealed that tablets are part of the mobile strategy of 60 percent of surveyed companies. Over two-thirds of respondents were evaluating or planning to purchase a tablet in the short term. Sectors such as education, hospitality, government, and transport ranked tablets among their top three priorities.
Marta Fiorentini, Research Manager at analyst firm IDC, commented: “Tablets are on the rise in enterprises. In a recent IDC survey², CIOs told us that in 2017 they are prioritizing investment in tablet PCs even ahead of cloud computing. In terms of IT spending priorities, CIOs today rank tablets as the highest priority after the three infrastructure elements of storage, servers, and notebook PCs. Tablets appeal to enterprises because they deliver efficiency while ensuring employee flexibility and productivity. That’s why the majority of CIOs consider that investing in 2 in 1 tablet devices is a spending priority.”
Rüdiger Landto, Head of Client Computing Devices at Fujitsu EMEIA, says: “Digitalization places many new demands on businesses and one of them is more flexibility and mobility for the workforce, as well as the ability to efficiently implement new, digital processes. Businesses of all sizes need to provide their employees with highly portable, yet powerful working tools and tablets have been a major focus of investment in many organizations. However, equipping employees with both traditional laptops and tablets is a considerable strain on the budget. With their advanced 2 in 1 functionality, our new tablets are powerful and feature-rich enough to function as a primary computing device, even replacing business notebooks altogether.”
All three 2 in 1 tablets include the latest generation of Intel processors³, boasting more performance and better battery runtime, and ultimately boosting productivity. They are backed up by enterprise-grade security, including touch free PalmSecure authentication technology4.
