Fujitsu Launches its Most Secure 2 in 1 Device

Fujitsu EMEIA

News facts:

  • FUJITSU Tablet STYLISTIC Q736 integrates palm vein sensor, offering biometric security beyond classic fingerprint – while further security options include next-generation contactless and classic SmartCards
  • Contactless authentication via Fujitsu PalmSecure is hygienic and non-invasive, easy to use, fast and very accurate
Barcelona/Munich, February 22, 2016 Fujitsu’s most secure 2 in 1 device is launched today. The new STYLISTIC Q736 features different types of security technologies including Fujitsu’s unique PalmSecureOpen a new window palm vein biometric technology – which is more accurate, faster, easier and more hygienic than other biometric authentication scanners.

The new 33.8 cm (13.3-inch) tablet – which also converts instantly into a classic clamshell notebook through the connection of a dockable keyboard – enables security authentication with biometrics or SmartCard technology, also including support for contactless SmartCard via NFC (near-field communication) technology. Furthermore, the STYLISTIC Q736 features encrypted drives and Intel’s TPM1, which provides secured storage for security keys and passwords, further protecting against unauthorized access to sensitive data.

Fujitsu takes a no holds barred approach to providing outstandingly secure tablets. A powerful combination of performance and security elements ensure that the Fujitsu STYLISTIC Q736 is perfectly suited to vertical industries where it is equally important to ensure that data already on the device is secured – for example, patient records in healthcare, or bank account details in financial services – as well as ensuring only secured access to the tablet itself.

The new STYLISTIC Q736 also ensures that users – once quickly and securely authenticated – can access corporate data from anywhere, anytime. The tablet features enterprise grade connectivity including 4G / LTE communications and built-in GPS.

Jörg Hartmann, Head of Category Management, EMEIA Product Business at Fujitsu says: “Since human error is one of the most common security problems, we have taken a human centric approach towards systematically eliminating any weak points. The new STYLISTIC Q736 incorporates the very latest biometric and SmartCard security technologies that help reduce the chance of simple, but potentially disastrous mistakes, such as someone leaving their tablet unlocked in a public place.”

The STYLISTIC Q736 is a true all-rounder with an all-day2 battery life. The Microsoft Windows 10 Pro operating system ensures native compatibility with enterprise networks and applications. Standard features include a digital pen to fully digitalize handwritten note-taking, and the incorporation of Intel Pro Wireless Display to connect to an external monitor wirelessly. With Fujitsu offering the device as a notebook replacement, it also comes with an optional docking cradle for use at a desk.

Pricing and availability

The STYLISTIC Q736 is available globally, from March 2016. Pricing is according to region and specification.

Technical specifications

The STYLISTIC Q736 features up to the latest, 6th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 vPro™ processors, and a high-resolution 33.8 cm (13.3-inch) IPS full-HD anti-glare dual digitizer touchscreen display (1920 × 1080 pixels). This big-screen tablet can be combined with options such as a keyboard docking station providing additional interfaces and a second battery option, as well as an expansion cradle.

The STYLISTIC Q736 tablet weighs less than 1 kg, putting it among the lightest terminals with an anti-glare, multi-touch display in this form factor. The embedded dual digitizer also works with a digital pen.

Notes to editors

1 Intel Trusted Platform Module (TPM) protects a PC system start-up process by ensuring it is tamper-free before releasing system control to the operating system.

2 The STYLISTIC Q736 long-life battery lasts approximately 9.5 hours of continuous operation, and up to 15 hours with the second battery option.
