London/Luxembourg, June 02, 2016 Fujitsu Laboratories of Europe Ltd is hosting its fourth annual Fujitsu Innovation Gathering on June 9 in Paris. Embedded into the Fujitsu World Tour stop in France, the Fujitsu Innovation Gathering is an unparalleled opportunity to see Fujitsu Laboratories' latest innovations, including solutions for transport, manufacturing, healthcare, finance, security and retail.

Some of the sixteen innovations on show are being presented for the first time in Europe, including a new Stereoscopic 3D visualization solution that enables real-scale virtual design reviews, for smart design and manufacturing applications. Intelligent transport is another key area, with a new solution focusing on safer driving through driver status and behaviour monitoring using advanced data analytics, and another on enhanced object detection to improve road safety. In the realm of cyber security, Fujitsu Laboratories is showing its latest advances in real-time network attack detection and recovery. Also making its debut is a new Internet of Things (IoT) product lifecycle monitoring solution, involving low-cost smart tags that can be used to detect storage and transport environmental conditions, for example on vaccine batches and medicines.

Dr Tsuneo Nakata, Chief Executive Officer of Fujitsu Laboratories of Europe, explains, "This exciting event is our annual opportunity to bring the cutting edge of Fujitsu’s R&D activity to a wider audience, moving to a new destination each year. Our innovation roadshow has included Dublin, Helsinki, Madrid and now Paris, with each year covering a comprehensive program of keynotes, expert presentations and roundtables, and of course showcasing our latest innovations."

This year is no exception, with the program including a keynote dialogue on the topic of leveraging leading-edge technologies to drive Human Centric Innovation, between Mr Shigeru Sasaki, Fujitsu Laboratories’ CEO and Representative Director, and François Fleutiaux, Senior Vice President and Head of Sales, Fujitsu EMEIA. Also offered are four highly topical breakout sessions, with panels of expert speakers drawn from a wide cross-section of disciplines – discussing Open Innovation, Intelligent Computing under the Artificial Intelligence banner, Innovations for Smarter Energy, and the impact of Digital Transformation.

During the one-day Fujitsu World Tour event in Paris, some 1,000 expected visitors will be invited to a specially created ‘City of the Future’, incorporating the latest solutions from the global Fujitsu Laboratories’ R&D initiatives. In addition, Fujitsu Laboratories of Europe and Fujitsu France are holding a Fujitsu Linked Open Data Competition, designed to encourage the use of Linked Open Data as a way of creating valuable new applications for the public and private sectors. Open to both individuals and organizations, it highlights how the ability to link the many different sources of Open Data can play a vital role in the future, thanks to its potential for improving science, business, and society.
