  • Six-year agreement with Greenland Authority includes an option to extend by a further four years
Luxembourg, September 06, 2016 – Fujitsu has signed a six-year contract to drive a complete digital transformation project for the Government of Greenland’s public IT solution. Under the agreement, Fujitsu will modernize governmental processes in the Greenland Authority state offices as well as across four local municipalities.
Greenland Authority selected Fujitsu following a competitive tender process and chose Fujitsu’s PRISME ERP solution to optimize the digital transformation process. This is a fully integrated finance solution that Fujitsu developed originally for Danish municipalities and regions, based on the Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP platform. Greenland Authority and the four local municipalities (Sermersooq Municipality, Qaasuitsup Municipality, Qeqqata Municipality and Kujalleq Municipality) will use Fujitsu’s PRISME ERP solution to ensure speedy inter-departmental processes.
PRISME is one of the main elements at the heart of Greenland’s IT portfolio. The digital transformation program will ensure that Greenland Authority and its four local municipalities can communicate cohesively with each other while avoiding legacy technology issues and capturing data from outdated business applications. As part of the agreement, Fujitsu will drive the development of the Greenland Government’s entire ERP system.
Ravi Krishnamoorthi, Senior Vice President & Head of Business Applications Services, EMEIA, Fujitsu says: “This six-year deal will transform the provision of government services across Greenland. For the Greenland Authority, an essential part of the transformation project is to ensure the continued delivery of government services without disruption throughout the modernization period. By choosing Fujitsu as its IT partner, the Government of Greenland has made a choice that will deliver the maximum value to the government while also ensuring an upgrade to state-of-the-art IT systems. We are thrilled that the Government of Greenland has placed its trust in Fujitsu to deliver this outcome.”
Karin Schreil Jonsson, Head of Fujitsu Nordic, says: “The Greenland Authority and its four municipal regions are fully accountable to the citizens of Greenland, in terms of ensuring that they use IT systems that optimize and enhance current and future services to their constituents. The Authority is partnering with Fujitsu in order to make its processes simpler, affordable, fluid and all-round easier when managing and procuring contracts.. It is a flagship project for Greenland and its people alike.”
Fujitsu will also streamline a number of government processes, including those covered by strict regulatory compliance, such as financial, procurement, implementation and development systems, while providing continued support and maintenance services.
The Greenland Authority contract with Fujitsu starts in September 2016, and the initial transformation project is due to be completed in the beginning of 2019. Greenland Authority also expects continued enhancements and support for the duration of the contract.
