Fujitsu today launches the PRIMEQUEST 1800E2 Server in CEMEA&I . Built on Fujitsu’s long design experience in mainframe and Unix Systems, the new PRIMEQUEST model enables mainframe-like operations and transactions at a significantly reduced total cost. The compact, energy- and cost-efficient PRIMEQUEST 1800E2 is powered by up to eight Intel® Xeon® E7-8870 processors and 80 cores. It features full support for x86 Windows/Linux software stacks, VMware and other virtualization technologies.

Business Benefits

The highly reliable, scalable and flexible, PRIMEQUEST server was specifically developed for mission-critical enterprise workloads, resulting from corporate databases, transactional processing or Java-based business suites. Its compatibility with other industry standard hardware and software frees customer from potential vendor lock-in and dependence on software stacks and related license models. PRIMEQUEST 1800 E2 also enables customers to make a fast transition from legacy software stacks which might suffer from unclear future.

As the backbone of enterprise solutions, the PRIMEQUEST 1800E2 server ensures maximum availability, business continuity and data integrity. Alongside hot-plug redundant components and online maintenance options, the server features self-healing functions, such as hardware partitioning and industry-unique Active Reserve system boards.

These enable the system to resume operations automatically in less than eight minutes; this is 30 times faster than the standard four hours SLA in most recovery service contracts.
