News facts:

  • Cloud-based service enables companies to easily comply with EU-mandated energy audits
  • Software helps companies cut costs and realize tax breaks
  • Flexible solution adapts to reporting requirements
Fujitsu today announces a new cloud-based solution to help European companies comply with forthcoming energy audit requirements. Fujitsu Eco Track, available via the Fujitsu Cloud Store, is designed to allow European businesses to easily and cost-effectively manage their energy audits, which will soon become mandatory as a result of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive. The Fujitsu Eco Track is one of the highlights of Fujitsu Forum 2012, Europe’s biggest single-vendor IT event, taking place in Munich, Germany.

Passed into law by the European Parliament last month in an effort to step up member states’ efforts to use energy more efficiently at all stages of the energy chain, the EU Energy Efficiency Directive will require all companies with more than 250 employees or EUR 50 million in annual turnover to perform energy usage audits. Energy audits will become mandatory as early as 2013 in countries with stricter laws, such as Germany and the United Kingdom. As companies across Europe begin performing these government-mandated energy audits, they will be burdened with the additional resources required for compliance and will require compelling solutions to efficiently meet this new business challenge.

Fujitsu’s European solution simplifies compliance, enables cost-savings

Built on Fujitsu’s heritage of supporting Japanese customers’ similar energy audit requirements for more than 10 years, the Fujitsu Eco Track software is well-positioned to help European companies meet this new reporting challenge. The software is easily able to capture all the information required to support the audit process and ensure compliance, saving companies both time and money. Fujitsu Eco Track will also help companies reduce energy costs and effectively plan for the future with total transparency on current energy-usage patterns plus the ability to pinpoint areas for potential improvement.

Running on the Fujitsu Global Cloud Platform, Fujitsu Eco Track will support multiple languages, ISO norms and EU laws, ensuring companies are poised to easily demonstrate compliance and leverage tax breaks that may be available. In the first release, scheduled for early 2013, the software will be available in English and German languages, with more European languages to follow.

Customized options, flexible solution

Four editions of Fujitsu Eco Track are available to meet the varying needs of businesses, ranging from an entry-level version to an unlimited, fully-featured Enterprise edition with unlimited reporting capabilities for companies with complex reporting requirements. Fujitsu offers an “anytime” upgrade policy with cost-free data migration so companies can step up to a higher edition as required. The Fujitsu Eco Track service offers customers a risk-free commitment, thanks to the ability to easily export or import company data at any time.
