Fujitsu Plugs Enterprise Data Leak with Business Class Slate PC STYLISTIC Q550

Slate PC builds on long Fujitsu heritage of creating tablets for the enterprise; combines intuitive user features with highest security

Munich, June 16, 2011

Fujitsu today announces that its business class slate PC, the STYLISTIC® Q550, is now shipping. Designed to plug the growing problem of enterprise data leakage caused by employees introducing non-secure slates to the workplace, the Fujitsu STYLISTIC Q550 meets highest security and integration demands of mobile enterprise computing.

As insecure mobile devices continue to infiltrate workplaces, so CIOs are increasingly challenged with trying to ensure that corporate information is not allowed to leak out. Fujitsu addresses this challenge with the introduction of the STYLISTIC Q550, a 10.1-inch lightweight slate PC that integrates seamlessly into existing IT infrastructures thanks to the Microsoft Windows® 7 operating system .

Fujitsu’s STYLISTIC Q550 is intuitive to use, and delivers the battery power for a full working day. Thanks to its e nd-to-end security features such as Advanced Theft Protection (ATP), a system platform that is resistant to deep-level hacking and the optional embedded Trusted Platform Module (TPM), Fujitsu helps ensure that even if the STYLISTIC Q550 is lost or stolen, the data it carries remains protected – and can even be recovered remotely.

Independent industry analyst Bob O’Donnell, program vice president at IDC comments: “There should be no confusion that the STYLISTIC Q550 slate PC is designed for the enterprise market. Businesses and vertical industries want Windows-based slate PCs in order to remove adoption barriers such as security and easy mass deployment and manageability, as well as current application compatibility.”

Dieter Heiss, Head of Workplace Systems at Fujitsu Technology Solutions says: “The workplace usage of insecure devices has become a real problem for enterprises. On the one hand, CIOs want their employees to have the right tools to be productive, but on the other, they must also ensure that those devices do not inadvertently lead to unknown security breaches. Fujitsu’s solution to this challenge is the STYLISTIC Q550 slate PC, which draws on our 20-year heritage in designing tablets for the enterprise to ensure that it meets the security, usability and integration requirements that are critical for business users.”

The STYLISTIC Q550 slate PC now is available globally. Hardware and software configurations and pricing may vary by region.
