Robert Battenstein appointed new member of TDS executive board

Neckarsulm, April 15, 2010

TDS has appointed Robert Battenstein, managing director of the HR Services & Solutions business unit, as a member of the executive board. By creating a post on the board solely responsible for HR Services & Solutions, TDS is taking into account the increasing significance of this market. Thanks to its continual growth, the market now contributes over 50 million euros in revenues to TDS’s business. Fellow board member, Konrad Meier, will continue to head IT Outsourcing. Chairman of the board and CFO, Dr. Heiner Diefenbach, will remain in charge of the IT Consulting business unit and its finances.

Battenstein, who has a degree in survey engineering, had been chairman of the executive board of TDS HR Services & Solutions GmbH since January 2006. Previously, he was COO of the HR segment. From 2003 to 2004, Battenstein was managing director of the IT Consulting business unit, and from 2002 to 2003 he was director of System Integration & Development. Before coming to TDS in 2000, Battenstein held a number of senior management positions at IBM Global Services. “Robert Battenstein was an excellent internal candidate for the position; he has extensive experience in HR and IT,” explains Benno Zollner, chairman of the supervisory board at TDS.

“The demand for HR services continues to rise as administrative effort in HR steadily increases. We have become an important player in this market and by entering the Swiss market in early 2010, have been able to expand our position further,” says Robert Battenstein. With more than 750,000 payroll transactions a month, TDS is Germany’s market leader in HR business process outsourcing (BPO). TDS’s offering comprises comprehensive IT and HR services, including consulting, secure and reliable operation of hardware and software in certified data centres in Germany, plus management of all administrative processes in HR.
