Fujitsu Expands CELSIUS Workstation Portfolio

New CELSIUS Workstations feature the latest Intel® processors for a major leap in performance

Munich, January 07, 2010

Fujitsu today announces an expanded portfolio of CELSIUS workstations featuring the latest Intel® Core™ and Intel Xeon® processors. With the new CELSIUS W280, CELSIUS W380 and CELSIUS W480, Fujitsu offers a comprehensive selection of application-optimized professional workstations, designed to increase productivity in a variety of business environments, ranging from entry-level to advanced.

Companies needing excellent performance with application-optimized graphics will find that the CELSIUS workstations are ideally suited for these scenarios. The all-round line offers price-conscious users the ideal systems for 2D and entry-level computer-aided design (CAD), digital content creation (DCC) and electronic design automation (EDA) while the systems in the advanced line are designed for environments requiring sophisticated graphics.

The new CELSIUS W280 features the latest Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors with vPro™ technology, while the CELSIUS W380 and CELSIUS W480 have the newest Intel Core i3, i5 and Intel Xeon processors and meet the needs of the all-round and advanced workstation lines respectively. All three workstations benefit from Intel Turbo Boost Technology, which intelligently adjusts the clock-speed and number of cores in use on the fly, delivering optimized performance in changing environments, as well as reducing power usage. All CELSIUS workstations offer market-leading low noise emission during operation, provide easy manageability, and are ISV certified, ensuring stability and speed in professional applications, providing a powerful access point to Fujitsu’s Dynamic Infrastructures.

With the CELSIUS W280, Fujitsu offers a workstation that bridges the gap between PC and workstation. It is Fujitsu’s first compact, manageable workstation, providing the power of a workstation in a PC format. Intel vPro technology provides full remote system management, detailed system-health monitoring and notification, Trusted Platform Module (TPM) security and energy-efficiency. The sophisticated small-scale hardware design with air tunnels provides efficient airflow within the system for optimized thermal management and nearly silent operation, making for a quiet and spacious office environment.

Rajat Kakar, Vice President Clients Group at Fujitsu Technology Solutions says: “Intel’s latest processors represent a major leap in performance and Fujitsu’s expanded CELSIUS Workstation portfolio perfectly captures the capabilities of this increased performance. All workstations are ISV certified, guaranteeing stability and speed. They are highly manageable and feature optimized graphics, increased efficiency and excellent productivity. From the new CELSIUS W280 bridging the gap between PC and workstation, to the advanced models such as the CELSIUS W480, there’s a workstation to meet every business need.”

All CELSIUS Workstations are built to order, and Fujitsu offers free configurability for all product lines. Customers receive a system that is optimized for their specific requirements.
