March

On March 21, Fujitsu Microelectronics Limited (now Fujitsu Semiconductor Limited) established as the semiconductor business subsidiary of Fujitsu Limited.

July

Fujitsu Global Mobile Platform Inc. established as a WiMAX joint venture in Taiwan with the Taiwan Institute for Information Industry(III) to provide design and technical support.

2009

January

Fujitsu Microelectronics Embedded Solution Austria (now Fujitsu Semiconductor Embedded Solutions Austria) established in Austria to develop embedded software for markets such as automobiles.

April

Fujitsu Microelectronics announced collaboration with with TSMC for leading-edge 40nm foundry supply, as well as collaborative development on 28nm technologies.

December

The headquarters of Fujitsu Microelectronics Limited relocated to Yokohama, Japan.
