Fujitsu Client Computing Takes First Step as New Company

Fujitsu Client Computing Limited (FCCL) announces that it is today commencing operations as a new company, undertaking research and development, design, manufacturing, and sales of PCs and related products for the global market.

As announced on November 2, 2017, Fujitsu Limited, Lenovo Group Limited, and the Development Bank of Japan (DBJ) established a strategic collaboration that would lead to FCCL as a joint venture.

Through this strategic collaboration, FCCL aims to enhance its competitive strength and scale for the global market, achieving further growth in the PC business by utilizing Fujitsu’s global sales and support capabilities, its development capabilities that offer fine-tuned responses to customer needs, its system integration capabilities, and its manufacturing capabilities, featuring highly advanced automation and increased efficiencies. Lenovo brings its worldwide presence and procurement capabilities. In addition, FCCL aims to maintain momentum in the development of its business with the support of DBJ’s knowledge and experience as a financial institution.

FCCL will maintain its existing product portfolio as well as its development and manufacturing systems, and will continue to offer highly reliable and consistently high quality Fujitsu brand products. With regard to sales channels, enterprise products will be offered as before from Fujitsu through sales partners, or directly to customers, with support services also offered by Fujitsu. Consumer products in Japan, on the other hand, will be provided by FCCL via volume retailers, or directly to customers, with support services also offered by FCCL.

Based on a “Made in Japan” philosophy in the development of products, FCCL will lead the way as a computing company that partners with people, persistently providing global offerings with a relentless pursuit of high quality in manufacturing, and will bring to bear cutting-edge technology such as edge computing (*1) concepts and artificial intelligence (AI).

FCCL hopes to continue to be an indispensable partner for customers, constantly seeking to envision the diverse ways companies and individuals will use its PCs and related products.
