  • Ultimate mobility: New, compact and mobile ScanSnap S1300i supports Android-based smartphones and tablet devices
  • Innovative ScanSnap Folder universal application connector streamlines scanning to 3rd-party applications and enhances productivity
  • Scan-to-Dropbox brings next level of Scan-to-Cloud – extended cloud scanning functionalities with new additional service in Quick Menu
  • Faster: Scans up to 50% faster than previous model

Fujitsu subsidiary PFU has just released the brand-new, accelerated ScanSnap S1300i taking its Scan-to-Mobile and Scan-to-Cloud strategies to the next level. Having introduced Scan-to-iPhone/iPad functionalities as first vendor last November, PFU now also offers Android users the opportunity to transfer documents directly to their Android smartphones and tablet devices at the touch of a single button. The ScanSnap S1300i introduces Scan-to-Dropbox, a new Scan-to-Cloud function in the ScanSnap Quick Menu that delivers documents directly to the popular Dropbox cloud service. All users wanting to connect to other applications or services can use the brand-new universal application connector ScanSnap Folder. This innovative technology enables users to easily scan documents into any application or cloud service that supports the reading of regular pdf or jpg files or allow graphics import, saving time and valuable storage space. The ScanSnap S1300i scans up to 50 percent faster than its predecessor model at 12 pages per minute (A4 color, 150dpi, both sides) and can be powered either via USB cabling for mobile use or with AC power.

Scanning to Android

Android users may now use the ScanSnap Connect Application to receive scanned documents at the touch of a button via their WiFi-connected Android device. With this new feature, PFU is extending the concept of one-touch scanning from iPhone and iPad to even more tablets and smartphones. The Android application is available for free in the Google Play Store, the standard application store for most Android devices.

More cloud support, more connectivity: Scan-to-Dropbox

ScanSnap series scanners come with a wealth of services to transfer paper-based information directly to cloud services such as Evernote, Google Docs, Salesforce and SugarSync. The new ScanSnap S1300i extends this list by adding Dropbox to the Quick Menu, giving users the choice of sending documents directly to their Dropbox with a single click or touch. Ilya Fushman, Head of Platform Business Development and Corporate Development of Dropbox, Inc., comments: "We're excited that ScanSnap has integrated Dropbox into their devices via the Dropbox API to give our mutual users a great solution for digitizing and managing their content across multiple platforms."

More cloud support, more connectivity: ScanSnap Folder

The list does not end there, though. The ScanSnap S1300i marks the debut of ScanSnap Folder, a truly innovative feature that allows other 3rd-party applications to receive scanned documents directly from ScanSnap. This new, universal application connector is user-friendly and is easy to set up. It enables Windows users to connect directly from any application or cloud service that supports pdf or jpeg files – in just a few clicks. ScanSnap Folder eliminates many of the traditional steps of saving and importing scanner data, thus reducing scan-to-application time substantially.

High speed, low power consumption

The compact ScanSnap S1300i features a scanning speed of 12 pages per minute (A4, color, 150 dpi) or 24 images in duplex mode, making it 1.5 times faster than its immediate predecessor. This speed does not come at the expense of ScanSnap's highly acclaimed automatic and "intelligent" functions such as intelligent indexing to convert highlighted words in a document into PDF keywords for faster, easier search, or intelligent cropping and rotation to automatically align and crop documents even if they are inserted skewed, upside down or if they are odd-sized. The overall goal is to speed up the entire document-capturing process to enhance user productivity. In addition, the ScanSnap S1300i is very eco-friendly. After four hours (or any other time defined by the user) in standby mode, the scanner switches to "power-off" mode, consuming less than 0.5 watts.

”With the introduction of the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1300i, we are once again raising the bar. We have reached a major milestone in our quest to make paper-based information available anywhere, to any application, in the most efficient way”, explains Sofie Dheedene, ScanSnap Product Manager EMEA at PFU Imaging Solutions.

Current users of ScanSnap S1500/S1500M/S1300/S1100 models can add the newly enhanced software functions through an update program that is available for free from the ScanSnap product home page at: http://www.fujitsu.com/global/support/computing/peripheral/scanners/software/
