Asia Pacific, February 29, 2008  — Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific today introduces the DESKPOWER K50Y, its latest desktop PC product from a desktop range widely used in premium corporate offices. Combining its CPU with a generous 19” LCD display screen, the K50Y presents a unique space-saving small form factor that not only frees up precious desk space but minimises power consumption and operates quietly and securely.

In terms of power and new features, the DESKPOWER K50Y with a 19-inch wide TFT LCD, is running on the Intel® Core™2 Duo processor T7250 (2.0GHz, 2MB L2 cache, 800MHz) and provides up to 2GB in memory and up to 320GB HDD capacity. For added versatility and connectivity, the K50Y is built for ease of installation and features a Dual Layer Super Multi Optical Drive too.

How exactly does the DESKPOWER K50Y top the charts with more than 30% space saved? Simple, its unique compact, all-in-one arched-back design uses space more efficiently relative to desktops that typically separate the main CPU body from the display screen. Despite this startling space reduction, the K50Y has a remarkably bigger display screen as compared to other desktop PCs. This silent performer is simple yet stylish and comes equipped with an innovative and refreshing cable storage that allows cables to be stored inside the connector cover (e.g. LAN cables) and then passed under this cover when necessary.

The DESKPOWER K50Y will deliver more than 45% energy savings over generic desktop PCs. This unbelievable reduction in power consumption is achieved through the use of the Intel® mobile central processing unit, as well as the liquid crystal in the all-in-one design of the K50Y that ensures power consumption is substantially less than its general desktop counterparts through the integration of the CPU within its screen. This way, the K50Y greatly contributes to reduced operating cost and even has a master electrical switch for standby power to be activated at a flick of this switch, making the it an all-round environmentally-friendly PC.

Safeguarding privacy and theft is something premium corporate users would constantly be concerned about. The DESKPOWER K50Y addresses this issue by having a connector cover which prevents any illegal access. Theft can be further minimized by securing this cover with a wire lock. To further reassure users that their confidential data is kept safe from intruders, the K50Y is packed with enhanced security features such as BIOS Lock, Hard Disk Lock, Anti-Theft Lock Slot and Trusted Platform Module (TPM).
