Fujitsu Awarded Major Contract to Develop Defence Decision Support System

Fujitsu Consulting Leads Advanced Command and Control System Development Project for Canadian Forces

Quebec City, QC, November 16, 2007 — DMR Consulting, a division of Fujitsu Consulting (Canada) Inc., announced today that it has been awarded a contract by Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) Valcartier to conduct the Joint Command Decision Support for the 21st Century (JCDS 21) project. Initially slated to last 18 months, the JCDS 21 project could be extended for two additional years with a potential value of up to C$10 million.

The goal of the JCDS 21 project, part of DRDC’s Technology Demonstration Program, is to support the development of a joint net-enabled, collaborative environment to achieve decision superiority in complex domestic operations within a joint, interagency, multinational and public (JIMP) framework. This environment will make it possible to satisfy requirements related to situation analysis, intelligence, visualization, operations management and will support activities in the field.

DMR, the Quebec division of Fujitsu Consulting, will act as prime contractor on this project. With recognized expertise in the defence sector, DMR will be working with its partners, Lockheed Martin Canada, IBM Canada, CAE, Prolity, XWAVE and NSim Technology. They will help DRDC deliver the required solutions and set up an environment for testing concepts, strategies and technologies.

“We’re pleased to be working with DRDC Valcartier once again and taking part in this major technology research project that will help position the Quebec City area as a global leader in defence and security,” stated Mr. André Pouliot, president and CEO of DMR. “This contract will result in our creating fifteen high level positions requiring very specialized skills, helping to maintain Quebec City’s status as a leading knowledge centre.”
