Fujitsu’s Industry-Leading Macroscope® to Be Fueled by Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team System

Powerful suite of methodologies will utilize the complementary capabilities of Visual Studio Team System to enhance project delivery

Edison, NJ, November 29, 2005 — Fujitsu Consulting today announced its decision to utilize the power and flexibility of Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team System to enhance its industry-leading Macroscope®, the company’s comprehensive suite of business and IT methodologies. Macroscope for Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team System will use Visual Studio 2005 Team System to enact Macroscope through software tools, add-ins and templates that enhance the project delivery capabilities of Macroscope.

Launched on November 7, 2005 at Microsoft’s Ready Launch Tour 2005 kick-off in San Francisco, Visual Studio 2005 Team System is an expansion of the Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 product line. In addition to the powerful feature set of Visual Studio 2005, Visual Studio Team System includes lifecycle tools for managing the software development process.

“Visual Studio Team System will enable us to extend the implementation of the Macroscope meta-model, providing a seamless and highly productive enterprise application development and project delivery environment,” said Serge Deschamps, vice president, Macroscope and Knowledge Management, Fujitsu Consulting. “Our customers will benefit from the power of Visual Studio Team System and the robustness of a full-scope business and IT methodology.”

By combining Macroscope with Visual Studio Team System, project delivery teams will improve their ability to formalize business requirements, lower overall development costs and accelerate project delivery. Macroscope for Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team System is also expected to have a positive impact on client solutions by improving project costing, increasing reusability of design components and enhancing collaboration among dispersed project groups.

Using Microsoft technology to automate many aspects of the Macroscope methodologies has created a complete, ready-to-use development environment. Ultimately, the time saved by development teams will translate into cost savings, higher quality and faster project delivery for clients of Fujitsu Consulting.

“The Fujitsu Consulting team continues to adapt our technology in new and innovative ways,” said Bindia Hallauer, senior product manager, Visual Studio Team System marketing group at Microsoft Corp. “Its decision to use Microsoft Visual Studio Team System as the software lifecycle development platform validates the integration and flexibility of Visual Studio Team System and offers our customers an extended set of process guidance and best practices beyond the usual scope of software development. ”
