Fujitsu presents the CELVIN product series at IFA 2009; the series now has two high-performance network servers ideal for consumers and small companies. The CELVIN® NAS Server Q600 and the CELVIN® NAS Server Q700 centralize household or company data, making the data available to all devices, whether they are a Windows, Mac or UNIX system. Video gamers will be enthusiastic, as even gaming consoles such as the X-Box 360 or Sony PS 3 can stream videos via the CELVIN NAS Server. 04 September 2009: IFA 2009: Fujitsu presents notebooks with multiple touch functions – a delicate touch indeed
At this year's IFA in Berlin, Fujitsu presents two convertible notebooks with multiple touch functions for the first time. The two models LIFEBOOK T4310 and T4410 support the Windows 7 Touch technology and thus allow intuitive data input – either with a multifunctional pen or finger movement – and handwriting recognition. With the rotatable display the notebook turns into a flexible tablet PC. An additional battery helps to continue working, when an electricity socket is not accessible. The two notebook models have different designs and are planned to be available in EMEA in the fourth quarter of this year. The LIFEBOOK T4410 also offers a TPM module and a port replicator.

Fujitsu Technology Solutions and Citrix Systems, Inc. Fujitsu Technology Solutions presents a remote access solution for its workstations: all CELSIUS family models are now available with PC-over-IP™. The Fujitsu Technology Solutions’ FibreCAT SX88 storage solution has received outstanding marks from Microsoft. After completing the “Exchange Solution Reviewed Program (ESRP) – Storage 2.1” test series, the FibreCAT SX88 solution is now listed on the online reference page with storage solutions for Exchange environments. The ESRP tests and lists all the high-performance storage systems provided by the Gold Certified partners to help Exchange customers select the best products in the segment. To qualify, Microsoft partners are required to perform pre-defined load tests to determine the number of mailboxes that can be managed and the latency periods (delay periods) required for read and write operations.

18 February 2009: Workplaces with Three Displays Increase Productivity by 35.5 Percent
Employees can perform a typical knowledge-sector job much more efficiently at a three-display workplace than at a conventional one, according to a laboratory survey by the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (IAO). This is particularly relevant for jobs where digital information has to be processed very frequently, as is the case, for example, with scientists, editors, engineers or insurance company employees. Overall, the study showed that larger screen areas increase productivity – and with the 3-display workplace all interconnected to form one desktop, Fraunhofer IAO scientists recorded increased productivity of 35.5 percent. The study, performed as part of the OFFICE 21® research project, was supported by Fujitsu Siemens Computers who provided the test displays and PCs.

05 January 2009: A Green New Year: Fujitsu Siemens Computers Already Meets the New EU Law Requirements for Standby Power Consumption
The majority of Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ professional PCs already meet the new EU directive regarding low standby power consumption. The regulation went into effect on January 5, 2009 with a one year transitional period. The law states that as of January 5, 2010, all electrical and electronic office as well as household equipment must prove that they use less than 1 Watt on standby power. Thanks to Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ innovative "Low Power Soft Off” function, PCs in the ESPRIMO C/E/P5730 and ESPRIMO E/P7935 series as well as the CELSIUS W370 workstation are already well below this value today. Around 90 percent of these professional PCs are even below 0.5 Watt – a rate that is not required by law until 2013.
