Fujitsu Unveils SN200 Series of Fibre Channel Switches for Indonesia

Model 540 and model 485 switches offer network consolidation via enhanced links between servers and SAN systems

Jakarta, September 12, 2007 —  Leading IT and communications solutions provider Fujitsu Indonesia today today announced the new ETERNUS SN200 series of fibre channel switches for Indonesia market.

Designed for customers ranging from small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to large enterprises, the series comprises two products – models 540 and 485 – that duplicate access paths from servers to individual storage devices within a storage area network (SAN), for enhanced system reliability.

Models 540 and 485 also serve as common points of management for consolidated SANs with centralised data backup facilities, thus offering benefits such as:

• minimised operational costs
• reduced data backup times
• simplified disaster recovery regimes
• greater flexibility in server and storage expansion

Model 540, designed for enterprise-class SAN environments, supports a maximum of 256 ports and offers a maximum data throughput of 1,024 gigabits per second (Gbps). In comparison, Model 485 is a mid-range device supporting as many as 32 ports with up to 128Gbps of fibre-channel connectivity.
