Fujitsu Indonesia is Growing Faster than the Industry

This Year’s Strong Business Performance Provides a Firm Foothold to Maintain Momentum in 2013

NUSA DUA, Bali, Desember 06, 2012

Fujitsu, the leading provider of ICT-based business solutions, today highlighted its 2012 business performance and outlined its 2013 go-to-market strategy to help organizations in Indonesia accelerate growth, expand markets and reduce IT costs in the current macroeconomic climate at its annual Media Gathering.

From 2006-2011, the annual growth rate of Fujitsu’s business in Indonesia averaged 19.2%, outpacing the national IT industry annual growth rate of 12.9% over the same period. By the end of 2012, Fujitsu is expected to grow 25% year-over-year, higher than industry growth rate of 16.9%.

“2012 IT spending in Indonesia is expected to hit USD15 billion, growing 15% from 2011. We have outpaced the industry growth by registering strong performance from all our lines of business. This achievement gives us a strong foundation to drive greater momentum throughout 2013,” said Achmad S. Sofwan, President Director, Fujitsu Indonesia. “We remain intensely focused on customers’ top priorities – aligning IT with the business while reducing the total cost of IT. This time, the paradigm shift will be from organizations - enterprises to SMEs, looking at deploying cloud services and analytics solutions to drive business growth and cost efficiencies for longer term strategic growth.”

Business Directions in 2013

In terms of industry focus, Fujitsu will continue to reinforce its presence in Financial Services, the Public Sector and Manufacturing. “We will also extend our strength in Global Japanese accounts to help Japanese companies looking to expand in Indonesia. In the mid-market, we will strengthen our business with distributors and engage value-added partners to complement our infrastructure product offerings,” added Achmad.

Fujitsu announced that there will be a series of events such as the Fujitsu Technology Day in February 2013 to educate the market on Fujitsu’s technology and services that are suited for their needs. In the prevailing economic climate, an increasing number of companies are looking for solutions and services that help them improve operational efficiencies to maintain a competitive edge.

Fujitsu has identified the following solutions that will help customers achieve operational efficiencies and business values for their organizations:

  1. Fujitsu Cloud – Fujitsu has created the industry’s broadest portfolio of cloud solutions and services that underpin its vision of how cloud will transform business and society, both today and in the future. Companies in Indonesia can look to Fujitsu to learn more about how to take advantage of the real opportunities presented by cloud and investigate the proven technology and service solutions that underpin that success and see why Fujitsu is best placed to be their trusted partner as they make their journey to the cloud.
  2. Fujitsu GP4 – GP4 is software for simulating the movements of production line workers, which is designed for customers in the manufacturing industry, such as automobile parts suppliers and precision electronics manufacturers. With GP4, users at the production preparation stage can create a virtual production line and run simulations on factors including the most efficient movements or positions of production workers, the optimal alignment of workers in relation to the flow of a production line, and the time required to complete specific production tasks. As a result, in addition to enabling greater efficiency in assembly work on a production line from the standpoint of people, the product enables workers to benchmark their work against the simulation results and share their understanding of problem areas with co-workers, leading to improvements on the front lines of assembly plants.
  3. Fujitsu Smart Grid - This an infrastructure solution for supplying power that will leverage ICT technology to improve the reliability of power supplies, promote the mass introduction of renewable energy and optimize energy use by consumers. Based on a power supply network which is responsible for supplying power, and a communication network which supervises and controls the facilities that constitute the power supply network, ICT technology will allow power consumers to upgrade their energy management across power generations. This will enable high-quality power to be supplied in a highly efficient manner and thus promote a rich, safe and low carbon society.
  4. Fujitsu PalmSecure™ - This is a palm vein authentication technology that uses vascular pattern as personal identification data. Vein recognition is secure because the authentication data exists inside the body and is therefore nearly impossible to forge. These unique characteristics contribute to the popularity of palm vein recognition technology in the security space, particularly used for time-attendance system.

In terms or channel partners, Fujitsu will continue to increase its city coverage leveraging its network of distributors and value-added partners. It will also aggressively empower partners through a series of enablement programs and workshops to help them generate additional revenue streams. Currently, it has 3 distributors and 15 partners targeting the mid-market across 5 cities.

“This year, we saw companies in Indonesia starting to invest in solutions and services which help to improve operational efficiencies, better manage their infrastructures while driving costs down. We believe that going forward, our strategy in Indonesia will help these companies prepare themselves for growth,” said Achmad.
