Components at a glance

FlexFrame™ for my SAP Business Suite™ can be built from a combination of server and storage components. Each combination has been tested to guarantee the highest availability.

Application servers
The innovative technology of the new PRIMERGY blade servers makes them ideal as mySAP application servers in the FlexFrame environment.

PRIMERGY blade servers come with either one or two processors, main memory, hard disks and LAN-interfaces on a plug-in card, the so-called blade. There is capacity for up to 20 server blades in one chassis which only requires three units of rack space. This extreme density makes it possible to house up to 300 servers in a single 19-inch rack.

Blade servers can handle different application requirements without any physical conversion and can be easily maintained through remote management. They greatly simplify cabling - there is no need for multiple keyboard and screen connections - and have the advantage of lower power consumption.

Database servers
The high-end 4 and 8 way PRIMERGY servers featuring Intel Xeon MP technology form the typical database servers in a FlexFrame solution. Where very large databases with the highest levels of performance and availability are demanded, the Sparc/Solaris based PRIMEPOWER server is the optimal choice. PRIMEPOWER provides hardware partitioning which allows simultaneous support of multiple test and database servers.

Storage
FlexFrame use Network Appliance Filers as the centralized storage solution. These scalable and highly available products are easy to install and easy to administer. They incorporate technology for fast and efficient online replication, backup, recovery and point-in-time copies. These features and their extremely fast response times, regardless of how many files are utilized, means they can meet the storage requirements of almost any mySAP environment.
