Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific
Asia Pacific, September 09, 2008 (Updated!) — Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific today introduces its latest enhanced LifeBook tablet-convertible PCs, the LifeBook T5010 and LifeBook T1010. Both notebooks boast a generous 13.3-inch WXGA 1280 by 800 widescreen with a bi-directional hinge, and yet deliver a weight that gives users complete mobility and agility.
Designed for extreme usability, the LifeBook T5010 and LifeBook T1010 pack a Status LED that allows the system status to be seen even if the screen is closed, a scroll sensor adjacent to the screen to facilitate intuitive control and a Slide power switch to reduce inconvenience due to blunders while rotating the screen. There is even a two-way speaker that ensures uninterrupted music and sound even if the screen is closed – how thoughtful!
Furthermore, to make sure you have a firm grip on things as you dash for your appointment, these models come with round-sided edges on both its left and right sides and a slip-resistant dotted design to promote ergonomic handling. The front edge is also rounded, again for better grip and a slimmer look. Another new feature is the 1.3 Mega pixel camera not available in previous LifeBook T4000 series notebooks.
Sweetening up the entire package is the introduction of a new port replicator that comes with a High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI). With this compact audio/video interface, you will be able to connect uncompressed digital streams between set-top boxes, Blu-ray Disc players, personal computers, video game consoles, and AV receivers to compatible digital audio devices, video monitors and digital televisions (DTV). So get ready to enjoy more updated games and a thrilling entertainment experience.
Mr. Lim Teck Sin, Director of Product Marketing says, “Fujitsu recognises that tablet PCs are increasingly winning the favour of computer consumers globally. Our latest offerings, the Fujitsu LifeBook T5010 and T1010 tablet-convertible notebooks, bring tablet PC fans a whole host of practical computing and usage possibilities in the confines of a notebook and reaffirm our status as the preferred provider of tablet PCs.”
Fujitsu LifeBook T5010
The successor of the LifeBook T4220, the LifeBook T5010 brings new delights. Not only is its screen admirably wider -13.3”, it also comes with a newly developed SuperFine widescreen with Backlight LED, wider 160-degree viewing angle, GM45 Integrated Graphics with Intel® Active Management Technology(AMT), brightness rating of 300nits, 500:1 contrast ratio and a bi-directional swivel. All in all, it means that be it at a meeting in a boardroom or a café, you can impress with a visually vivid presentation that the audience can see in full view from any direction.
The elegant LifeBook T5010 also gets top marks on the score sheet for looks. First it charms you with its glossy black metallic finish and then further impresses with its extended glass cover and chromed hinge. Even its stylus has been beautifully designed in system black with a genuine metal ring, eraser button and a hot-printed LIFEBOOK metallic logo to complete the premium look.
Of course, looking good alone is not enough to deliver, so the LifeBook T5010 readily provides superior performance with a cutting edge Intel® Platform (Intel® Centrino® 2 processor technology), Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor (Penryn), complete Windows Vista® compatibility, magnum size Hard Disk Drive (up to 320GB SATA Drive) ideal for endless email and business file storage, powerful DDR3 memory (1066MHz) and a swappable modular bay (12.7mm SATA) catering to multiple usage scenarios.
The LifeBook T5010 is also aptly built with an Active Digitiser to provide greater precision and accuracy for writing, which is generally important everywhere, including the medical, construction and finance industries. This LifeBook also has a swappable modular bay that makes the machine lighter with the use of the weight saver and extends machine usage time with the aid of a modular battery.
Also equipped with a Digital Dual Microphone, 1.3 Mega pixel Web Camera, WLAN 11AGN, 1000/100/10Mbps GigaBit LAN, 56Kbps modem and Bluetooth v2.1, the LifeBook T5010 makes video and conference calls audibly and visually crystal clear and a breeze when it comes to connectivity. To provide for unforeseen job exigencies, this tablet-convertible has multiple ports such as 3 USB, Modem, LAN, Microphone-In and Out, VGA-Out, IEEE 1394, Ms/SD/SDHC and Smart Card holder.
Mindful that the target users of the LifeBook T5010 may be using older versions of DV appliances to transfer video/film to their computers, Fujitsu has equipped this LifeBook with IEEE1394. It also comes with a smart card slot to enable users to slot the company’s own smart card for log in or use it to provide greater security.
This LifeBook also features a 5-button Security Button that offers a programmable panel which protects against unauthorised entry and provides easy one-touch access to applications. Since corporate professionals place a premium on confidential data, this laptop has a Fingerprint Sensor to better secure business information and make it available only upon a swipe of a pre-registered fingerprint. And to safeguard against careless moments, the LifeBook T5010 comes with the Fujitsu 3D Shock Sensor to prevent damage to the hard disk caused by vibration and shocks and a spill-resistant keyboard to protect against accidental spillage.
The Fujitsu LifeBook T5010 is an environmentally-friendly product of Fujitsu’s green factory concept. In addition, Fujitsu strives to make each activity green and takes every effort to ensure that its PCs honour its commitment to green living, the green IT cause and sustaining the Earth.
Fujitsu LifeBook T1010
Looking just as sleek as the LifeBook T5010 but with a polar white cover, this tablet-convertible stands out because of its unique partially glossy combination finish and selective touches of black, making it a winner with users with a penchant for stylish simplicity.
The LifeBook T1010 delivers robustness and functionality even as it offers straightforward operation. For instance, the LifeBook T1010 is appropriately fitted with a Passive Digitiser that supports stylus writing and pointing; or in cases where quick input is needed, finger-pointing and writing. In all, it has the ideal specifications to match a huge range of contemporary corporate requirements and is also versatile for students or home users.
This laptop also has a hi-capacity Hard Disk Drive (up to 320GB SATA Drive) and DDR3 memory (1066MHz) for students determined to fit as many music, video and school project files as possible into one space, together with GM45 Integrated Graphics and a built-in Dual Layer Super Multi Drive to more fully meet all their computing demands.
Similar to the LifeBook T5010, the LifeBook T1010 is equipped with Built-in WLAN 11AGN, 1000/100/10Mbps GigaBit LAN, a 56Kbps modem and Bluetooth v2.1 so that you always have the option of being online to send or receive data, be it an Instant Message to an MSN buddy or MMS from a mobile phone. Of course, if you’d rather both see and speak with your cyberpal, then this LifeBook can make that a reality with its built-in-in web camera, Digital Mono Microphone that minimises noise disruptions and two-way speakers.
This notebook also offers a 5-button Easy-access Panel to enable a one-stop application launch. And to protect you against your own maladroit moments, the Fujitsu LifeBook T1010 has the Fujitsu 3D Shock Sensor and spill-resistant keyboard. Besides offering this kind of protection, Fujitsu is very much concerned with the bigger picture of safeguarding our Earth and consequently all of us against abuse, so it makes every effort to produce green products that will sustain the Earth.
All in all, the LifeBook T5010 and LifeBook T1010 are geared to suit different daily use, with Fujitsu giving total product solutions to all types and levels of users. The LifeBook T1010 is designed to meet the expectations of creatively experimental entry consumers and thus comes in a fashionable and colourful design. In contrast, the LifeBook T5010 is a full featured tablet PC targeted at vertical professionals and experienced tablet PC users who prefer a wider screen, choice of modular bay change and comprehensive security features such as a Fingerprint Sensor, Trusted Platform Module (TPM) and smart card support.
