Fujitsu Establishes Platform Solution Center in Hong Kong

An affirmation of Fujitsu's commitment to deliver optimal IT systems through hardware validation, performance testing and application verification

Hong Kong, June 7, 2006 — Fujitsu Hong Kong Limited, a leading provider of customer-focused information technology and telecommunications solutions and services, today announced the opening of Platform Solution Center (Hong Kong), the fifth Fujitsu has established worldwide, following the opening of sites in Japan, Singapore, Korea and Shanghai.

Located in Fujitsu Hong Kong premise, the Platform Solution Center (PSC) offers a full range of services, spanning from consulting to hardware/application validation and verification, and performance benchmark testing from Fujitsu and its partners. This enables customers to perform "proof of concept" evaluation which tailors to their needs before implementation of IT solutions. In the new facility, there are multiple types of servers and storage systems which partners and customers can use for assessing and verifying the performance of different combination of products.

The Center's opening reflects Fujitsu's strategy to expand the platform business in Hong Kong and China. The Hong Kong site is a satellite facility of Platform Solution Center (Shanghai). Both will be used as a hub to closely link customers with Fujitsu.

The center is equipped with Fujitsu PRIMEPOWER UNIX servers, Intel-based PRIMERGY servers and ETERNUS storage systems. Solutions from partners, such as AXS-One, BEA Systems, Microsoft, Software AG, Symantec, among others, can all be demonstrated from one location.

Along with time and budget constraints placed on IT departments, there is no room for lengthy deployment projects and onsite testing," said Masayuki Tomimuro, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Fujitsu (China) Holdings Co., Ltd.

"There is a clear requirement to evaluate and verify a system's operations and performance, based on actual business needs, prior to construction. IT systems need to deliver its benefits from the first day of implementation. The PSC helps customers cut down time and overall costs in IT implementation," Mr. Tomimuro added.
