Fujitsu Expands Imaging Product Family with New Departmental Scanners

Hong Kong, October 3, 2002 — Fujitsu Hong Kong Limited, a market leader in document imaging scanners and scanner maintenance, today announced the expansion of it's award-winning "fi" scanner product family with the new members of fi-4120C , fi-4220C and fi-4340C departmental color duplex document scanners.

This series comes standard with a reliable Auto Document Feeder (ADF) which has a straight paper path supporting different media from credit cards slips to business cards or post cards.

The fi-4120C and fi-4220C are capable to scan single-sided A4 sheets at 25ppm in color with 150dpi, or in monochrome with 200dpi. From the environmental protection point of view, high quality document scanners allow you to save paper because documents can be scanned and saved electronically in a central location where they can easily be accessed by others. You can also fax or email your scanned documents anywhere in seconds. With copier or scanner functions, fi-scanner provides you a well-equipped working environment.

Besides, these two new models can also be used as a digital photocopier that provides a comprehensive solution for companies of all sizes, across all industries. They offer a cost-effective desktop solution for electronic data access and distribution. The fi-4120C does not have any flatbed, thus is a very unique space saving design. Both fi-4120C and fi-4220C come with SCSI/USB dual interface.

The fi-4340C is specially designed for scanning up to 4,000 sheets of paper once. With 600dpi optical resolution and high color scanning speed of up to 48 images per minute (ipm) at 150dpi or monochrome and grayscale scanning of up to 80ipm at 200dpi, this enhances scanning quality. The fi-4340C is capable to digitize dim pencil strokes, and even faint watermarks in a single pass.

In addition, Fujitsu's fi-4340C is equipped with a duplex red, green and blue dropout feature managed through the control panel or software configuration set - making forms processing easier than ever. This product brings stellar document imaging capabilities to organizations, such as insurance companies, government units and financial institutes, which require archival imaging, decentralized document capture, forms processing, and OCR functionality in their everyday business.

Now, all these three models are bundled with ScandAll 21 and Adobe Acrobat 5.0 which allows the scanners to convert documents into Adobe PDF format.
