Fujitsu Introduces Enhancements to the Popular LifeBook B and C Series

Hong Kong, June 24, 2002 — Fujitsu announced today the availability of the LifeBook B2610, C2010 and C2111. The new B and C series notebooks come with improved features including more powerful processors to offer users even greater multimedia enjoyment and computing performance.

More Speed, More Storage

The latest in its line of innovative touch screen notebooks, the Fujitsu LifeBook B2610 comes equipped with the energy saving Ultra Low Voltage Mobile Intel® Pentium® III 800 MHz-M processor for extended battery life and notebook operation. Powered by the industry leading Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor, and the Intel 845MZ chipset, the LifeBook C2010 and LifeBook C2111 are also primed for enhancing your digital media experience by boosting audio & video clarity and quality. The new B and C series come with more hard disk space (30GB for the LifeBook B2610 and C2010 while the LifeBook C2111 comes with 40GB) for all your information storage needs.

Navigation Made Easy

The LifeBook B2610 is a portable marketing tool ideal for carrying out face-to-face presentations. Draw your audience's attention to important information by tapping and selecting options on the 10.4" XGA TFT Colour Display. The panel's low reflectivity makes it extremely effective when conducting outdoor sales calls. The LifeBook B2610 also allows sales professionals to close deals quickly. Simply call up a contract on the touch screen display and get your client to sign on the dotted line.

Intelligent Features for Effective Presentations

The LifeBook B2610 is also equipped with another Fujitsu first - the innovative, intelligent 360-degree rotational feature. The easy rotation of the screen display to the left, right or even 180 degrees allows all participants seated around the notebook to view the screen comfortably without having to strain their necks and vision. In addition, the LifeBook B2610 can be laid open to a full 180-degree plane position, facilitating easy simultaneous viewing by multiple participants.

Engineered for Security and Convenience

The B series also offers user security and protection in the form of a programmable Security Panel. The four security buttons yield a number lock with more than 800,000 possible combinations, effectively preventing unauthorized access and usage of the notebook, even in its standby mode. To add to user convenience, four One-Touch Application Launch buttons have also been created. These buttons can be user-programmed for hassle-free and speedy access to the Internet, email applications and other favorite applications.

This is Entertainment!

The two new LifeBook C series notebooks, on the other hand, offer all-in-one multimedia performance an entirely different user experience. The LifeBook C2010 offers an impressive 14.1-inch XGA TFT colour display while the LifeBook C2111's massive 15-inch display offers sharp quality graphics. Both displays deliver clearer, brighter and richer images during movie playback.

For superior video editing, smooth DVD playback and the ability to run graphics-intensive applications, both the C series feature advanced ATIR Mobility-M6C with 16MB of integrated video memory. Adding to the notebooks' entertainment prowess is their ability to support Dolby Digital surround sound.

A 15" XGA display and Combo Drive make the LifeBook C2111 a multimedia powerhouse

For superior video editing, smooth DVD playback and the ability to run graphics-intensive applications, both the C series feature advanced ATI® Mobility-M6C with 16MB of integrated video memory. Adding to the notebooks' entertainment prowess is their ability to support Dolby Digital surround sound.

Multimedia Hub Offers Wide Variety of Connectors

In addition, both C series notebooks come with an array of I/O interfaces - an IEEE 1394 FireWire port that allows lightning fast digital video and data transfer, an SPDIF port, an S-type Video-Out port and four USB ports. Users can easily download music to an MD player using the SPDIF port, or use the notebook as a VCD-player by connecting the S Video-Out port to television sets or projectors. The unprecedented four USB ports enable increased expandability, so that users can simultaneously connect up to four devices - which could be a mouse, keyboard, digital camera, scanner, zip drive or printer - directly to their LifeBook without the need for an USB hub.

Both the C2010 and C2111 feature built-in modems and Ethernet ports as part of their standard configuration, rendering them perfect for any kind of networking environment.
