Modifications

New Features and Improved Points:

  • Windows 10 has been supported.

Fixed Malfunctions:

  • Jpeg files in Dropbox were converted to PDF files with extremely low resolution when opened.
  • A part of description (for which button to select) was missing from the message that appears when the new version of Power PDF is installed over the earlier version of it.
  • Power PDF might occasionally stopped responding when users performed repeatedly advanced search in a specified folder.
  • Conversion from a trimmed PDF file to a searchable PDF produced blank pages or inaptly shifted location of images in it.
  • An invalid support URL was written in the version information window of Nuance Cloud Connector.
  • Black and white area was inverted when a particular application outputs meshed images to PDF file by using Power PDF printer.
  • When users saved a Word file as a PDF file, inserted it into another PDF file as a page, and printed the PDF file from Power PDF application, character corruption occurred in the inserted page.
  • When Create Assistant converted PDF files in one of the following languages to be searchable, English was selected as a language for a read aloud function:
    #160; Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, or Traditional Chinese
  • Corrupted characters appeared when users copied text in a searchable PDF file in Russian and pasted it to Notepad.
  • Some Japanese words in the menu didn’t correspond with the words in the help. This issue doesn’t occur in the other languages.
  • A non-Japanese kanji character was used for the UI in Japanese. It appeared when Power PDF was installed into Japanese Windows with Japanese language selected; and when users opened Comments from the Ribbon (The character was “検” used in “検索” (meaning search)).
  • Character corruption occurred in a particular PDF file in Japanese.

Installation Instructions

How to update

  1. Be sure you login to Windows® as a user with administrator privileges.
  2. Download an update installer suitable for your operating system (32 or 64 bit) onto the hard disk.
      Attention:
    • The installers are incompatible with unsuitable systems.
    • After selecting the download link, press the [Save] button to save the installer in a folder on the hard disk. Do not press the [Run] button to start download.
    • Make sure you have enough free disk space, at least more than twice as the downloaded data size, before installing the program.
  3. Exit any applications that are running on the computer.
  4. Execute the update installer you downloaded in the 1st step. Select [Yes] to the User Account Control dialog if displayed.
  5. Press the [Browse] button to select a folder to which the module is extracted and click the [Unzip] button. The update module is extracted to the selected folder.
      Attention:
    • Do not perform any operations to the dialog while unzipping, or the process will be stopped.
  6. Click the [OK] button when the message of completion. The update program runs automatically after that.
  7. Select a language of your OS.
      Attention:
    • A language used in the OS is automatically selected. Do not select another language. Power PDF does not support running in a language different from the OS.
  8. Select at least one program to install and click [Install] to start the installation. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete.
      Attention:
    • Restart the computer if you are prompted to after installation.

How to check whether the update is successfully applied

  1. Confirm that the updated version of Nuance® Power PDF Standard is displayed on the version information.
  2. To display the version information, start Power PDF Standard and select [Help] - [About].
