Miss feeding (multiple feeding) problems are usually caused by dirty or worn pads (if the miss fed documents meet specifications).
- Clean the automatic feeding area, especially around the Pad ASSY and the Pick roller, following the procedures outlined in
the Operator's Guide.
Be careful not to bend the metal part (pick spring) of the Pad (as this may also cause multiple feeding problems).
- Fan the document
- Remove a stack of paper that is no thicker than 5mm.
- Hold both ends of the document and bend it as shown in the diagram.
- Firmly hold the document with both hands and push the two ends together, as shown in the following diagram.
- Repeat procedures from (1) to (3) several times.
- Flip the stack over and repeat these steps.
- Loading documents into the feed tray
Make sure that document edges closest to the scanner are not lined up vertically.
The document to be scanned should look like a flight of stairs, as shown below.
- Adjust side guides to fit the document being scanned.
- Be sure to replace consumables.

- fi-5110EOX Pick roller (PA03360-0001): 100,000 sheets or one year.
