Trouble shooting
-Installation & Connection-
- What should I check if I cannot get a newly installed scanner to work?
- What can I do when the following error messages appear?
- The "Check" lamp lights when powering up the scanner.
- Carrier does not move and make an unusual noise when powering up the scanner.
- A message "unknown device found" appears whenever powering up the PC.
- The scanner cannot be recognized when connected to fi-475PR (imprinter).

-Driver-
- A message "ASPI manager not found" appears.
- The error message "ASPI manager not found" still appears even after installing the correct ASPI manager.

-Scanning-
- The scanned image is skewed.
- The scanned image is pale.
- The size of a scanned image is different from the original document when I print it out.
- Paper JAM/Double feed problem occurs when using the ADF.
- Unexpected stains or lines, which are not on the original document, appear.
- The "Check" lamp lights when scanning documents.
- "Device Error" appears and I cannot scan documents.
- When scanning in 8-color/256-color mode with Adobe products (Acrobat etc.), the scanned image becomes black or an error message appears.
- Duplex scanning with Adobe products (Acrobat etc.) creates the incorrect order images.
- When scanning document by using Acrobat and save the scanned image as a PDF file, the file size becomes large.
- When using fi-4860C/fi-4990C with KOFAX VRS3.0 (Mid-Volume Bundle), the scanner hangs up when TWAIN driver is installed.
