4. Switch linked applications by launching the desired application
5. Use new default profiles (Windows Vista)
6. Configure carrier sheet settings to meet the attributes of each profile

ScanSnap Organizer

1. Use ScanSnap Organizer with Windows Vista
2. Assign passwords to PDF files when attaching them to e-mail messages
3. Set your ScanSnap to send you a warning message when the combined size of files attached to an e-mail message exceeds a predetermined value
4. Specify printer name and number of copies to be printed when printing PDF and JPEG files
5. Convert searchable files automatically (not manually) by selecting "Execute when the computer is idle"
6. Specify whether or not to skip pages containing embedded text information when setting up searchable PDF files
7. Use a "Partial Match" search to search for words

CardMinder

1. Use ScanSnap CardMinder with Windows Vista
2. Use ScanSnap CardMinder to scan and archive Korean business cards
3. Use ScanSnap CardMinder with Office2007

Operating Procedures

Please ensure that previous versions of these applications (ScanSnap Manager, ScanSnap Organizer and CardMinder) have been installed prior to installing this update.

Be sure that you log into Windows Vista 32-bit as a user with "Administrator" privileges

1. Download ScanSnap "Scanner model name" Update Pack (ssv4020up.exe / OrgW3020.exe / cm3110.exe) onto your hard drive. Ex: C:\ScanSnap update.
2. Shut down any other applications that are running on your system.
3. Power off or disconnect the ScanSnap scanner.
4. Execute the ScanSnap Update Pack programs one at a time (ssv4020up.exe / OrgW3020.exe / cm3110.exe) that you downloaded in step one.
5. Although this ScanSnap Update Pack asks that users reboot their system after executing each program, you can avoid having to do this numerous times by selecting "Reboot later". Selecting "Reboot later" will enable you to complete upgrading your ScanSnap with only one reboot.

• Now that you have completed updating your affected applications (ScanSnap Manager, ScanSnap Organizer and CardMinder), please refer to "README" of ScanSnap Manager, "README" of ScanSnap Organizer and "README" of CardMinder prior to activating it.

• Applications affected by this ScanSnap S500 Update Pack (Vista support) are not automatically downloaded by "online update".

ScanSnap Manager Download (S500)

Modifications

1. A malfunction that takes time to scan each page from the third and the forth page onwards is modified.
2. A malfunction that certain search engines such as "Spotlight" operated by Mac and etc are unable to perform PDF search when documents are converted into "Searchable PDF files" using ScanSnap Manager is modified.

Operating Procedures

When using Windows 2000 or Windows XP, log in as a user with "Administrator" privileges.

1. Download ScanSnap Manager Update Pack (ssv40l19up.exe) onto your hard drive.
2. Shut down ScanSnap Manager and any other applications that you may be using.
3. Activate the version of ScanSnap Manager Update Pack that you downloaded in step one.

• Now that you have completed updating your ScanSnap Manager, please refer to README prior to activating it.

• When executing from online update, the above-mentioned procedure is unnecessary.
  Execute the update following the instructions showed on the online update screen.

ScanSnap Organizer Download

Modifications

1. A malfunction that certain search engines such as "Spotlight" operated by Mac and etc are unable to perform PDF search when documents are converted into "Searchable PDF files" using ScanSnap Organizer is modified.
2. A malfunction that in very rare cases converting processing is not terminated on converting into "Searchable PDF files" is modified.
3. A malfunction that in some cases documents are unable to be converted into "Searchable PDF files" when the install folder of ScanSnap Organizer includes more than 2 Byte character strings is modified.

Operating Procedures

When using Windows 2000 or Windows XP, log in as a user with "Administrator" privileges.

1. Download ScanSnap Organizer Update Pack (OrgW3013.exe) onto your hard drive.
2. Shut down ScanSnap Organizer and any other applications that you may be using.
3. Activate the version of ScanSnap Organizer Update Pack that you downloaded in step one.

• Now that you have completed updating your ScanSnap Organizer, please refer to README prior to activating it.

• When executing from online update, the above-mentioned procedure is unnecessary.
  Execute the update following the instructions showed on the online update screen.

ScanSnap PDF Converter Download

Program Description

1. With regards to the malfunction that certain search engines such as "Spotlight" operated by Mac and etc are unable to perform PDF search on such PDF files output or converted into "Searchable PDF (OCRed PDF)" using ScanSnap Manager (V4.0L10 to V4.0L16) or ScanSnap Organizer(V3.0L10 to V3.0L12), these are a modifying tool to make the files be searchable as well as the relevant User's Guides describing the utilization of the tool.

Operating Procedures

Log in as a user with "Administrator" privileges.

1. Download ScanSnap PDF Converter Users Guide (UsersGuide.pdf) onto your hard drive.
2. Please refer to "1.System Requirements" and "2.Installing PDF Converter" in the "the ScanSnap PDF Converter Users Guide".
3. Download ScanSnap PDF Converter (PDFCnv100.exe) onto your hard drive.
4. Shut down ScanSnap PDF Converter and any other applications that you may be using.
5. Activate the version of ScanSnap PDF Converter that you downloaded in step three.
