FLASHWAVE 7500 Extension System

Metro Wavelength Extension Solution
The carrier-class FLASHWAVE® 7500 Extension system delivers the benefits of Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) transport to the edge of large networks, as well as to small- to medium-sized cities that previously could not justify the cost of a metro DWDM system. As a stand-alone platform or extension from a larger FLASHWAVE 7500-based network, the system uses up to 16 wavelengths to deliver traditional and next-generation services directly to customer premises. The FLASHWAVE 7500 Extension system can be cost justified with as few as one or two wavelengths to provide a compact and extremely cost-effective solution for networks requiring a limited number of wavelengths. When matched with the Netstender 2060 optical coupler, all wavelengths can be transmitted across long spans using only a single pair of fibers.
*Configuration requirements for certain uses are described in the product documentation.
Did you know?...
- There are more than 750 FLASHWAVE 7500 nodes currently deployed and transporting live traffic in North America
- More than 90% of all ROADMs deployed in North America are FLASHWAVE 7500 DWDM systems
- The FLASHWAVE 7500 DWDM platform is converging voice, video and data networks in many major cities across the U.S.
- Fujitsu knows how to optimize broadband video transport because we own five cable television systems in Japan
