| Q. What is Accela BizLingo? |
| A. Accela BizLingo is a web-based client-server translation system on an Intranet. It translates through web browsers and mailers. (An improved version of tr@nslingo and ATLAS Translation Server 2002) |
| Q. Where can I purchase Accela BizLingo? |
| A. Accela BizLingo is available in Japan only. Please contact our sales team or Accela BizLingo Support Center. |
| Q. Are there any OS limitations for the server machine? |
| A. Accela BizLingo works with Windows 2000 / 2003 Server Family, but it doesn't work with Unix/Linux/Solaris. Please see the System requirements. |
| Q. Are there any OS limitations for the client machines? |
| A. Client machines have no OS limitations. |
| Q. What's the selling point of Accela BizLingo? |
| A. Basic translation functions are available with no need for installation on client machines. Sharing dictionaries gives uniformly high quality translation. Multiple CPU parallel processing makes nearly instantaneous translation possible. Crosslingual Search is available in cooperation with "Accela BizSearch". |
| Q. What kinds of functions are provided? |
| A. Text Translation, Mail Translation, PDF Translation, Office Application Translation and Crosslingual Search is available. For the use of Crosslingual Search, the purchase of Accela BizSearch is required. |
| Q. Are there any CPU limitations? |
| A. Using an 850MHz Pentium 3 processor, around 1000 pages per day can be translated. |
| Q. How fast is the translation speed? |
| A. Translation speed depends on the speed and memory resources of the server computer. On a server machine with Intel Pentium III 1GHz x 2 CPUs and 1GB memory, Accela BizLingo can translate a one page letter with 313 words in 3 seconds, and a typical web page in 4 seconds. |
| Q. Can I use it via the Internet? |
| A. No, it can't be used via the Internet. Accela BizLingo is a system in which the translation server is placed on an intranet. |
Text Translation
| Q. What is Text Translation? |
| A. You can enter the text you want to translate in the original text entry section and display the translated text in the translation section. This is useful when you want to translate short text strings and words on the spot. Text Translation does not require the client module. |
Mail Translation
| Q. What is Mail Translation? |
| A. You can send email to the specified email-address on the translation server and receive the translation as a reply. Translation is always possible whenever you have access to your e-mail, even on business trips. |
| Q. Is it possible to translate attached files? |
| A. Yes, it translates the following file formats by attaching them to your e-mail: Text files (*.txt) HTML files (*.htm, *.html) |
| Q. How many files can be attached? |
| A. There is no limit. |
| Q. Are there any limitations for the mailer? |
| A. POP3/ IMAP4-compliant mailer can be used. We have tested the following mailers. Outlook Express 5.0/ 5.5/ 6.0 Outlook 97/ 98/ 2000/ XP LotusNotes 4.6/ 5.0 |
Office Translation
| Q. What is Office Translation? |
| A. You can translate Microsoft Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint files directly in the applications. Content in graphs and textboxes is also translated. |
PDF Upload Translation
| Q. What is PDF Upload Translation? |
| A. PDF files can be translated by uploading them to the Translation server. The Translation server extracts the text data from the PDF file and translates them. The translated PDF file is displayed in the browser (Acrobat Reader). |
Crosslingual Search
| Q. What is Crosslingual Search? |
| A. You can search for and view Japanese email or documents in English. Crosslingual Search first translates English keywords input in the Accela BizSearch search window, into Japanese and starts searching. To use Crosslingual Search, Accela BizSearch is necessary (sold separately). |
| Q. What's the selling point of Crosslingual Search? |
| A. You can search for and view Japanese newspaper or documents stocked in the database. Translation is also possible after displaying the document when necessary. Crosslingual Search enables speedier information sharing and gathering. |
| Q. Are there any OS limitations for Crosslingual Search? |
| A. Crosslingual Search works only on the Japanese version of Windows. For details, please refer to System Requirement. |
Dictionaries
| Q. What kinds of dictionaries are available? |
| A. We have three types of dictionaries: Standard Dictionary, Technical Dictionaries, and User Dictionaries. |
| Q. How many words are included in the Standard Dictionary? |
| A. Number of terms are: English-Japanese 910,000 words, Japanese-English 890,000 words. |
| Q. What are the Technical Dictionaries? |
| A. Accela BizLingo Technical Dictionaries are a set of technical term dictionaries in 25 fields such as Information Processing, Finance and Economics and Medicine. The English-Japanese dictionary contains 2,170,000 technical terms and the Japanese-English dictionary contains 2,210,000. |
| Q. What is a User Dictionary? |
| A. Users can create their own original dictionaries for improving translation quality. They are stored on the server and can be shared among users, resulting in improved business operation efficiency. User dictionaries are managed by the administrator. |
| Q. How many dictionaries can be used at the same time? |
| A. Six dictionaries, including user dictionaries and technical dictionaries. |
| Q. What is Dictionary Customizing Service? |
| A. We can provide support to improve your translation quality even further by providing dictionaries specially tailored to your specific needs, including specialized terms and sentence pairs. (Option) |
| Q. Can I order dictionaries for fields other than those in the technical dictionaries? |
| A. Yes, Dictionary Customizing Service provides such dictionaries. Please contact Accela BizLingo Support Center. |
| Q. How do I upload or download a dictionary? |
| A. ATLAS V11 is required. |
