Fujitsu and Zynium Partner to Integrate Microsoft® Visio® Process Maps with Fujitsu® Interstage® Business Process Manager™
Zynium's solution will enable customers to reuse Microsoft Visio process diagrams within Fujitsu's Interstage Business Process Manager
Sunnyvale, CA, October 11, 2005- Fujitsu Software Corporation and Zynium today announced that they have entered into a partnership where Zynium will provide a solution for utilizing existing intellectual capital for business process management. Zynium, the market leader in middleware for workflow, will enable its Microsoft Visio process maps exporter to be compatible with Fujitsu's Interstage Business Process Manager 7.1, the newest version of Fujitsu's award-winning business process management software.
The compatibility of Zynium's Byzio Exporter™ with Interstage Business Process Manager allows direct conversion of existing libraries of static Visio diagrams into executable business process applications. It allows companies to access, modify and unlock static Sarbanes-Oxley, Six Sigma and other compliance process diagrams created with Visio and use them within Interstage Business Process Manager.
"Constantly changing conditions lead to exceptions in any standardized procedure. Businesses must frequently react to unforeseen events, respond to regulatory mandates or policy modifications and take action to support evolving business rules. Here at Fujitsu, we see the need to drive productivity improvement," said Robert Sepanloo, senior vice president of Interstage at Fujitsu Software Corporation. "The partnership with Zynium allows our customers to make use of Visio process management diagrams they already have designed. By importing these diagrams into Interstage Business Process Manager, organizations can instantly utilize them within their process management framework."
Organizations can now reap the benefits from the discovery and construction phases they have already undertaken for process management. Byzio Exporter enables an iterative approach to process change by transforming business process maps from Visio into Fujitsu's Interstage Business Process Manager for improved performance and timely testing.
According to a study released by Gartner in July 2005, "organizations that had the most success rolling out their first BPM initiative spent more than 40 percent of the total project time on discovery and construction of their initial process model. Furthermore, BPM is most effectively deployed and managed over time in iterations, rather than in the traditional "waterfall" manner that is familiar to most IT-led initiatives."*1
"Zynium is excited about this partnership with Fujitsu. Businesses understand that change is iterative. The Byzio Exporter is designed for the business analyst who wants to use existing Visio diagrams for SOX, HIPAA or Six Sigma workflow and compliance. Through iterative tuning of the systems supporting the organization, IT can truly drive optimal process performance at all times and for all changes," said Dutch Dwight, chief operating officer of Zynium.
The Zynium Byzio Exporter bridges Microsoft Visio with Fujitsu Interstage Business Process Manager. The Microsoft Visio COM add-in, Zynium Byzio Exporter is available to everyone operating Visio. Using the add-in, production Visio files can be exported into dynamic process models within Fujitsu's Interstage Business Process Manager.
By significantly reducing the amount of time required for re-charting and re-keying business process data, the combined solution will allow business analysts to concentrate on gathering and refining additional metadata required to perform end-to-end process management and analysis.
Interstage Business Process Manager and CentraSite Integration Delivers Unprecedented SOA Capabilities
Interstage Business Process Manager 7.1 is now integrated with CentraSite, jointly developed by Fujitsu and Software AG to deliver a service-oriented architecture. CentraSite is central to Fujitsu's long-term vision of providing enterprise customers with the ability to orchestrate business processes across departments and partner organizations for enhanced collaboration, increased efficiencies, and optimal business performance. The new standards-based repository is unique; it not only lets companies refine their business processes and store them in a centralized location, but it also lets them define Web services that they then can register in the repository for reuse. Users can easily browse through the repository to locate Web services and templates for reuse in their applications. In keeping with Fujitsu's commitment to championing standards, all Web services registered will be compliant with Web services Interoperability (WS-I) standard.
Fujitsu will offer Interstage Business Process Manager 7.1 with CentraSite, as well as two CentraSite-enabled products from Software AG, Enterprise Information Integrator and Enterprise Service Integrator. These service oriented integration products enable enterprises to leverage their integration assets and provide an alignment point between business and IT.
"Fujitsu and Software AG joined forces in order to deliver a unique SOA offering to the market. We are very pleased to ship CentraSite, our first joint product," said Dr. Peter Kuerpick, member of the board, Software AG. "CentraSite is a next generation SOA repository and builds an open foundation for management and governance of SOA projects."
