GLOVIA's e-Commerce

The evolution of e-Commerce

Madarame Senior Vice President spreaks of FUJITSU's Manufacturing Solution

e-Commerce has shown a tremendous growth. The Japanese e-Commerce market in the year 2000 was worth 842 billion yen for B2C, and 21.6 trillion yen for B2B. In the future, it is estimated to grow even further, reaching 13.3 trillion yen for B2C and 110.6 trillion yen for B2B by the year 2005.

As can be seen in the US where net related stocks have fallen heavily, the over excitement towards e-Commerce has begun to cool down. In this environment, the tendency has leaned towards re-architecture of back office systems to allow these systems to be more integrated with e-Commerce solutions with the aim of contributing towards higher returns for the while corporation.

In manufacturing industry, the adapting of business models like SCM, CRM and eMarketPlace has been popular. To realize the business models it requires not only to construct B2B but also to reconstruct back office systems.

As for Fujitsu's procurement, the use of EDI has intensified compared to not long ago, and already we have realized network-based transactions with over 1500 business partners. This system allows information sharing with business partners, and the releasing of latest information. It realizes the next generation e-Commerce.
