Background and challenges
In the design field, information sharing across the world is becoming mandatory. In the usual circumstance of joint concerns or partnership with oversea companies, timely response to various needs, cost
savings and reduction of design time has always been essential. Sharing large amounts of data, like engineering change (EC)
information for example, prove to be difficult and time consuming, especially among oversea companies.
Point Proposal
EC information will be shared by mirror function. Designers do not have to worry about sending EC information to the related divisions, that task is not suppose to be done
by the designer. All designers have to do is check in the EC information onto master folder. BI.DAN-GUN will automatically
distribute them to other divisions.
Distributing perfunctory (Fail-Safe & Log function). In case of network failure or server trouble, update might not reflect to the files, therefore BI.DAN-GUN has a fail-Safe
feature that synchronizes those folders by periodically checking for discrepancies. Log function will also allow you to view
the transfer history.
