- What is a power supply current value when the oscillator is used?
- When the MB90495G series is in use with the single clock system, the current consumption at stopping is 1 mA or more. What does it mean? (I already confirmed that the port status at stopping is Hi-z and oscillation stops.) (Target: MB90495 series)
- Let me know about the current consumption at RESET and in Hardware Standby Mode.
- How are the maximum and minimum values of clock frequencies determined?
- When the power supply voltage of a microcomputer is off, can voltage be applied to the N-ch open drain pin? (Target: MB90650A series)
What is a power supply current value when the oscillator is used?
- Answer :
The standard value of the power supply current described in the data sheet is based on the data obtained with external clocks (rectangular waves). Therefore, when an oscillator using sine waves is used, the power supply current increases. The guidelines are as follows:
Main clock: Increases about 100 µA as compared with that using an external clock.
Sub-clock: Increases about 10 to 20 uA as compared with that using an external clock.
For accurate values, see a characteristic example of each product type.
When the MB90495G series is in use with the single clock system, the current consumption at stopping is 1 mA or more. What does it mean? (I already confirmed that the port status at stopping is Hi-z and oscillation stops.) (Target: MB90495 series)
- Answer :
The X0A and X1A pins of sub-clocks might be in the same level. Confirm that X0A is pulled down and that the X1A is open.
Let me know about the current consumption at RESET and in Hardware Standby Mode.
- Answer :
The current consumption at RESET is somewhat smaller than that at normal operation. The possible cause is that the clock supply to the CPU part stops and so only the current consumed in that part is reduced. The current consumption at Hardware Standby Mode (HST) is equivalent to that at stopping. (For a Flash product having the security function, current consumption of about dozens uA is added to the current consumption of other products at HST.)
How are the maximum and minimum values of clock frequencies determined?
- Answer :
The maximum frequency is determined by the drive performance of the oscillation circuit.
The minimum frequency is determined to insure the stable operation of the PLL multiplication function.
When the power supply voltage of a microcomputer is off, can voltage be applied to the N-ch open drain pin? (Target: MB90650A series)
- Answer :
Voltage is standardized to Vss+7.0 V (Vss standard) by the absolute maximum ratings of the N-ch open drain pin described in the data sheet. So, there is no problem when voltage is applied to the N-ch open drain at power-off.
