Overview

The MB95200 series is 8bit microcontrollers with a variety of low pin count lineup. This microcontroller is suitable for home
appliances and other consumer electronics products, such as water heaters, electric pots, dehumidifiers, and hair dryers.
Aside from their use as main microcontrollers, the new series can also be used as sub-microcontrollers - for example when
as a result of system specification changes in high-performance audio-visual equipment, the functions of the I/O or A/D converter
of the main microcontroller or ASIC are no longer adequate.

MB95200 Series Roadmap

MB95200 Series Lineup
Features
1. High performance 8bit CPU

F²MC-8FX CISC CPU can provide the high performance such as;
- the maximum machine clock frequency: 16.25MHz
- the minimum instruction execution time: 61.5ns
As the CPU has many instructions which can be executed in just one cycle, it can help to save both time and power consumption comparing with other products.
2. Highly-reliable flash memory

The flash memory used in MB95200 series promises to retain data for 20 years, and is rewritable over 100,000 times. Also, it has Flash security function to protect a user's program and data from an unauthorized access.
3. External IC reduction

The products of the series have CR Oscillation Circuit and Low Voltage Detection Reset Circuit on the microcontrollers. Also, they will correspond to E²PROM emulation in future. Thus, users can reduce the external IC with these functions; in other words, the microcontrollers become more simply to be used.
- CR Oscillation Circuit

- Main CR Oscillation Circuit (selecting from 1/8/10MHz, a precision of ±3%)
- Sub CR Oscillation Circuit (100KHz)
- Low Voltage Detection Reset Circuit
- E²PROM Emulation
4. Composite Timer

Composite Timer can be switched programmatically among four timer functions such as Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM), Pulse-Width Counter (PWC), Interval Timer and Input Capture. This makes the series flexible to respond various systems.
5. On-chip debugger

Using only one line, MB95200 series realizes on-chip debug. it requires the minimum pin for debugging, and uses the rest of the pins effectively.
6. Pin assignment for measure against noise
The series considers the facility in designing the board and the power supply by dividing the pin assignment into two; the left side of the package is for power supply and clock input and the right side is for functions such as timer, A/D, general purpose I/O and debug. Also, users can arrange VCC and VSS close, and select pin function from several options; A/D, timer, and communication. This lets users to design a board more easily and flexibly.
