Fujitsu Introduces Its Mobile WiMAX System-on-Chip Solution and Roadmap

WCA, Washington, D.C., June 28, 2006 – Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA) today announced its Mobile WiMAX System-on-Chip (SoC) solution and roadmap at the Annual Wireless Communications Association Conference 2006. This highly integrated one-chip MAC and PHY mixed signal baseband SoC is designed to optimize both performance and power consumption using Fujitsu's 90nm process technology, and is especially well-suited for PC cards and mobile devices.

Fujitsu Network Communications Adds Airspan AS.MAX WiMAX Products to their Broadband Wireless Portfolio

Washington, D.C., June 28, 2006 – Fujitsu Network Communications Inc., a leading supplier of IT and wireline/wireless networking solutions, announced today the availability of a new WiMAX solution for North American service providers. This end-to-end, turnkey solution combines carrier-class WiMAX products from Airspan Networks (NASDAQ:AIRN) and Network Life Cycle Services from Fujitsu to create a unique broadband wireless solution. Fujitsu and Airspan are both founding and current board members of the WiMAX Forum™ (www.wimaxforum.org), and this is the first system-level agreement between two founding board members.

Fujitsu Finalizes Acquisition of Wi-LAN Intellectual Property Division for WiMAX Products, Extending the Scope of Patent Licenses

Sunnyvale, CA, May 30, 2006 – Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA) announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Wi-LAN's IP Division. (See related press release from Wi-LAN on March 20, 2006.) This acquisition includes Wi-LAN's entire technology development division, including all 802.16d-like, standards-based MAC and PHY technologies. Fujitsu Microelectronics has also employed a large group of highly skilled engineers from Wi-LAN and formed a new wholly owned subsidiary, Fujitsu Microelectronics Canada Inc., in Calgary, Canada.

Toshiba, NEC Electronics and Fujitsu Announce Agreement on "COSMORAM Rev. 4" Common Pseudo SRAM Specifications for Mobile Devices

Tokyo, February 15, 2006 – Toshiba Corporation, NEC Electronics Corporation, and Fujitsu Limited today announced that they have reached an agreement on standard interface specifications known as COSMORAM (COmmon Specifications for MObile RAM) Rev. 4, for Pseudo Static Random Access Memory (PSRAM) for use in mobile devices. Based on these specifications, each of the three companies will independently begin production and sales of PSRAM devices, with products scheduled to be available from each company from March 2007.

NTT DoCoMo, Renesas, Fujitsu, Mitsubishi Electric and Sharp to Jointly Develop Platform for W-CDMA Handsets

Tokyo, February 13, 2006 – NTT DoCoMo, Inc., Renesas Technology Corp., Fujitsu Limited, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation and Sharp Corporation today announced that they will jointly develop a comprehensive mobile phone platform combining a single-chip LSI for dual mode handsets supporting HSDPA/W-CDMA and GSM/GPRS/EDGE, and core software such as operating systems. The new mobile phone platform will help accelerate the global adoption of W-CDMA services including FOMA™, and lower the costs of these handsets. The companies expect to have the platform developed around Q2/FY2007 (July-September).

Fujitsu to Construct New Fab for Logic Chips Employing 65nm Process Technology and 300mm Wafers

Tokyo, January 11, 2006 – Fujitsu Limited today announced that it will construct a new fab to mass-produce logic semiconductors employing leading-edge 65-nanometer (nm) process technology and 300 millimeter (mm) wafers. The fab will be constructed at Fujitsu's Mie semiconductor plant, in Mie prefecture of central Japan, as the second 300mm fab of the plant and will be referred to as 300mm Fab No.2.
