New features respond to a wide variety of needs
For customer satisfaction

ETERNUS storage systems have several key features to ensure data security and reliability including a backup feature.
As for the concept of new features offering optimal solutions for enterprise data asset protection and regulatory compliance,
Takashi Yamamoto, Implementation Architecture Development Project Chief says "These days most enterprise customers use their
storage systems 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Any shutdown of the system- whether for expansion or maintenance - is highly
unwelcome. It is of great advantage to the customer to be able to expand hardware capacity and perform maintenance while the
system remains powered up and online.
In addition to high performance, high speed, and large capacity, we are constantly working to enhance all features to fully
satisfy our customers. And we hope our customers choose ETERNUS as their first choice."
New features respond to a wide variety of needs
Support of RAID6
RAID6 guarantees data continuity in the event of two simultaneous disk drive failures in the same RAID group. Redundancy is maintained, data can be restored without loss, and operation continues without interruption. This results in further enhancement of reliability.

Detailed information
One Point Copy (OPC) function matches backup to applications
On a daily basis backup can be supplemented by QuickOPC, which only copies data updated since the last OPC.

SnapOPC enables the copy volume size to be reduced, as it only copies data prior to update. Very suitable for file server backup, it makes for easy recovery if data has been lost after a user error or software failure.

Detailed information
Disaster recovery
Remotely located ETERNUS systems can now be directly connected using high speed iSCSI interfaces. This significantly reduces the cost of building disaster recovery system environments.

Detailed information
Encryption technology
High data security is also catered for as all ETERNUS disk drives can be encrypted.
Even if a disk drive is stolen, the data remains unreadable, ensuring confidentiality.
