Support 1TB Nearline SATA disk drives
Enterprise disk storage system ETERNUS8000 and midrange storage system ETERNUS4000 now support 1TB Nearline SATA disk drives. This means ETERNUS8000 provides up to 2,729.1TB of capacity, and ETERNUS4000 provides up to 297.2TB storage capacity.

ETERNUS8000 and ETERNUS4000 both support flexible disk drive deployment for applications requiring high-speed, highly-reliable Fibre Channel disks for online use, plus large capacity, low-cost Nearline SATA disk drive for backup and archiving. As you can mix these disk drives in the same drive enclosure, you avoid purchasing additional drive enclosures until there is no unused space left in your existing drive enclosures.
