Non-stop LUN capacity expansion - LUN Expansion
The LUN Expansion function provides non-stop capacity expansion while normal operations continue. There are two methods available; RAID Migration and LUN Concatenation.
Migrating RAID5(3+1) based on 73GB disk drives to RAID5(3+1) based on 146GB disk drives, then expanding the capacity of LUN1(RAID Migration)
Consolidating unused areas and the existing LUN to make a larger capacity LUN while normal operations continue (LUN Concatenation)
Benefit
- Enables LUN capacity expansion while data is retained and secured in a LUN
